Weisman Healthy for Northwestern More Important than Risk v PSU?

Come ON people, lets be honest here! (I KNOW thats asking a lot....) Our so called offence STINKS! This kid is a HAMMERHEAD SHARK in a SEA of sorry sardines... Our QB...? Look, he gives it the ol' college try.... But without WEISMAN our offence is truly OFFENSIVE! (GET IT!?!? Pure gold...) But seriously, REST the kid! We are NOT going to the Rose Bowl, and this kiid needs to be healthy...

I have no REAL reason to believe this...besides IOWA REALLY getting up for the game, and assuming TMART will make mistakes as he does most big games...I think Iowa beats Nebraska. I will be at the Michigan game...and have a bad feeling we may be killed...so it is basically a tailgating trip with my best friend.
I feel just the opposite. We seem to know how to keep DRob under control. Pelini's D's usually pwn statue qb's, and our statue can't even throw.

I could go into the self-haters, the no nothings or the trolls concerning everyone's contributions to this thread but won't.

This is simple math and the physical reality of big time college football. If Iowa can only win one game between PSU and NW... it has to be NW. If it's about "The Ankle" the latest Airbaggee or whatever is the supposed curse is ... allow Weisman for Heisman to get healthy and return for another 600 or 700 yards in the final 5 games leading up to the Big Ten epic match-up of IOWA VS WISKY in INDY.

Any one got their tickets yet?

I still think the B1G should have changed it rules for this year. It should just take the top 2 teams by conference record no matter of division to play in the title game. It would make for much more drama and probably a better game.
I agree, this is really stupid. The 2 best teams in the Div are out and Wiscy gets to waltz into the title game. They should have at least realigned the Div to give it some balance while those pukes serve detention.

Seriously?? Iowa will have at a Minimum 3 losses in our division that is a fact. I don't care how down you say it is. I will be happy when Iowa gets to Bowl Eligble.

What happened to you?

You have turned into the 2nd most pessimistic guy on this board, behind OoTH.

I think this team is a throwback Ferentz team that is really going to hit their stride in October and November. I would not be shocked if this team went 6-2 or even 7-1 in B1G play.

Anybody else think JVB looks like a boy still? I got to thinking about our better players over the years, they were all men.

Anyway maybe this road win, though ugly helped with the kid's confidence. He can definitely play at a higher level then what we are seeing.

The crux of your arguement is that Iowa can be a contender in the Legends division. While it can be argued that they have a chance it's a very slim chance. First they have to develop an offense. Second they need to win at Northwestern and Michigan. And beat Nebraska. Nebraska may have taken a shellacking at the Horseshoe but they are still a legitimate contender. Unfortunately Iowa still is team under construction.

Maybe when Iowa gets more than two TD passes to it's credit it might warrant championship aspirations but not now. It was one road win over another struggling team. Lets see what they look like after tomorrow.

To use a few cliches..."no looking ahead" and "play every game like it's your last." We have a home, night game against a tough conference opponent. In my opinion, Weisman may be the difference between a win and a loss this weekend.

With Weisman (i.e., a running game), pressure is taken off Vandenberg which may help open things up for the pass game.

Without Weisman (i.e., no running game), expect the passing troubles to continue (and more turnovers, and more 3 and outs, as the offense becomes more one-dimensional and in more difficult 3rd down situations).

If Weisman can go, we have to play him. We certainly need him. Worry about next week, next week.

I've said this in a past thread... But I'll repeat it.
I think this wkends game and the next two are going to do well for JVB, and help him build confidence. See the following:
1) He plays much better at home

The Clowns and Mighty Chippewas say "hello!"

Although it's all relative, I suppose.

JVB can't catch his own passes. Weisman's drop along with a number of others cost Iowa the football game against the 25th ranked BCS Iowa State.

The loss against CMU was a wonderful collapse of the Defense and Special Teams.

JVB can't play defense or special teams along with being the QB> comprende?

Pitt also says hello.
JVB is 9-3 at home, and averages 232 yds passing, which is not lighting the world on fire, but better than last week.
The moral of the story is stay positive. And who knows... Maybe The Hammer plays after all.
