Wegher now a Reiver

Makes sense he would switch to receiver. Didn't have the skill set for RB IMO.

Can he do just one year at Juco or does he have to do two to get back into a college?

Why didn't he have the skill set at RB? He was decisive when running, hit the hole, made pretty good cuts & was above average in speed.

His HS videos did show he can be a pretty good WR downfield.

I'm confused, pleasantly confused, but still confused.

He was my favorite player his freshman year and it was disappointing to have him leave the team last year. With that being said, I don't see him in a Hawkeye uniform ever again, especially with the RB's that have been recruited over the last couple of years.

As we have found out the hard way before, you can never have too many good running backs.

that potential is not gone.

1 year at this JUCO to clean things up academically and if he proves himself there, back to Iowa.

Me, I would welcome him back. He was 18/19 years old and kids make mistakes. That being said, I kind of doubt that Iowa would take him back (gut feeling). If they do, it would be a "Hubbard Contract" (no idea what that is, but assuming something saying that you can not mess up again).

No matter what happens, I wish the best for him. If he ends up back here, it will be with the right conditions and the best for the team/school.

Agree on the speed the rest not so much.

I don't think he ever made a single YAC, wasn't good at making people miss either.

Good hands though, much more suited to be slot type of guy, or a saftey IMO.

they would take him back. he's not the first guy to make a mistake and have to leave the team.

Shonn, et al.

Now, I realize this was against the clowns, but i wanted to give you an example of him making YAC and making people miss. 3:09 is one of my favorites.

Remember. TRUE FRESHMAN. Starting in the Orange Bowl. Starting KO returner in the OB. Knowing KF that says A LOT about how they felt about his abilities.

Wegher didn't make many guys miss. The guys who he made "miss" in that video, mostly were guys that never had a chance to make the tackle anyway. Rarely did he make a guy miss that was actually in a position to make the tackle.

He was on KOR because he had speed and very reliable hands, not because he had shiftiness.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take him back in a heartbeat. But let's not attribute things to him that he didn't have, or at least didn't display.

I was very excited about BW after that game and then he never showed anything other than straight line speed and being able to jump over the pile the rest of the season.
