Wegher named in custody suit

Not to be a jerk But I am almost 100% sure I know more about daycare than you do. My wife has ran an in-home daycare for 14 years. We charge 90 bucks a head it doesn't matter. part time or full..Its 90 bucks a head. She has a waiting list and sometimes people put themselves on a waiting list BEFORE they get pregnant. SInce she is registered we know that the going rate in our town of 9000 is 90-125 a week. Yet another reason why I would NEVER live in a large city or town.

Where do you live because that's extremely cheap? Would that go into consideration when you decide on a flat rate for child support?

i am curious about your post. I have no idea about day care. Have 4 kids, but we take care of our own kids.

Why does being registered = knowing what the going rate is? can't you charge more than a set rate if you are registered?

why $90 for either FT or PT. I don't understand that part either.

finally, why do you use this (being registered day care provider) as a reason to not live in a large city or town (i'm saying that a town with a population of 9000 is a large town, but that's just me! ;) )

As a mom who has been paying for daycare over the span of around 23 years I can tell you it's not cheap. Currently I am paying only $400/month for two kids but they are only there briefly after school. In the summer it will go to $800/month. This might be the year I keep them at home by themselves. I also have to pay her 2 weeks of vacation a year plus 7 holidays including her birthday. So then I have to find other care that I pay for. If she's sick and closes, I still have to pay. If I take vacation, I still have to pay. Daycare homes have you over a barrel.

Dude, you probably charge 90-125 per week. I have lived in rural America and big city America. Even the chicken-fat lady from Erin Brocavich didn't charge 90 a month.

WTF are you talking about? I made snarky comment to the OP and by way of association anyone else that loves to watch a train wreck. I didn't absolve any one of anything.
Maybe you should focus your anti-social tendencies toward your jailers.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but your kids obviously aren't in full time daycare. Daycare costs anywhere from 600-1000 month i'd say on average.

My wife & I have had our 4 yr old twin boys in daycare & have been chucking out 1,000 - 1,250 each month over the last almost 4 years. It has gone down a bit after they turned three but is expensive.

I know if we lived in Iowa City we could prob add another 500 to that. It's rediculously expensive in IC.

In all seriousness, the one thing that bugs me is per the complaint, Wegher apparently didn't agree to split the birthing expenses. There's no paternity issue, he's on the birth certificate, why would he not step up?

Exactly what I was thinking. Is this his only kid?

Hopefully because his Daddy finally decided to cut the cord. Kid needs to put his ego aside and be a man. It seems to me like his biggest hurdle in life is his ego, not his sex life.

Well the new rumor in Sioux City is that hes gonna play for NAIA Div2 Morningside. hes livin with a couple of players. Since his dad is not happy with him.

hmm...I just can't decide which of the 4 debates/conversations on this one thread that I wish to respond to. Raising kids is expensive. BW career is over b4 it started. BW is a story like a trainwreck. We should not be reading nor writing about him or his personal life...and daycare is expensive, or not, depending on where you live. hmmm...on to next thread.

It's like an episode of the Simpsons...starts out about one thing and by the end it's about something totally different. This thread is full of left turns.

. This thread is full of left turns.

Just like Wegher! Sorry, couldn't resist even though I think Wegher talk shoudl be done here. He is now an ex-Sooner, not an ex-Hawkeye. His story so far is sad more than anything else, but it isn't over yet. I think it makes most sense that he does go to Morningside, where he will no doubt tear it up. USD would be a better option for him IMO (assuming he wants to stay near SC) but aren't they D-1 now, which would mean he would have to sit out ANOTHER year losing another year of eligibility? Or do I have that wrong? Either way, wish him the best and hope the next time I hear about him on here is when he gets picked up as a free agent after running through M'side opponents or where ever he ends up.

My two cents, as the father of an 8 month old. If someone else is raising a child 24x7/365. It's time for both of them to step up to the plate and be a parent. People need to take responsibility of their actions and quit expecting the rest of us to help them raise the kid. They obviously didn't need any help when they were doing the deed so why should the rest of society be expected to help them with it.

Shocked as to how dad couldn't possibly be happy with him, he's made such great choices since he graduated.

Ankle we pay the same amount every week at our daycare. The babysitter does it out of her house. The reason the same full or part is because a part timer still takes a space just like a full timer does. It works good for parttimers also because then they can drop the kids off even on an off day to run to the doc or whatever might come up.

Never could understand the point behind spitting out kids only to PAY someone else to raise them.
Glad my wife and I have our priorities straight. Our kids actually have mom at home...even if it does mean a little pain for us.
