What is going on? Lester Herb must have some answers as to why,4 starters have all left in the last 2 years. This is very frustrating. All of these guys had star potential and 2 of them were just plain dumb to get suspended and will probably never get the starting job as a D 1 player again. Smh

I cant really answer what is going on but I'm thinking the same way you are, a reporter needs to ask plain and simple "What the hell is going on with the RBs" and one of the coachs Kirk, Kok or Erb need to give a definitive answer. 1 or 2 guys okay understandable but this many?

As a RB recruit do you go to Iowa because of the position vacancy or steer clear because of the uncanny misfortune in the last 2 years?

How is Lester supposed to answer that? Injuries, Drugs and making kids...not sure how he could fix those. I guess we could make athletes get vasectomies, that would fix 20% of the attrition.

So that last line leads me to believe that DJK was doing things that would put him in position for trouble with the law because the way he was treated by the coaches??? Hah, now that's funny. That's called "putting the cart before the horse".

Bottom line is - if these boys would've done the things it takes to compete at the HIGHEST level on the field and kept their noses in the books THEY WOULD ALL STILL BE HERE - AND THEN IN THE NFL.

I agree, as a manager or business owner, etc. if you have a high turnover rate you have to take a look at it and ask yourself why. Same situation here... DLine and RB's both...

pretty simple, isn't it..... :)

i would agree with the players named, hard to blame a coach. if you can't stop smoking weed, even after being warned, and then be caught riding with a guy selling said material.......uh, ok.

Don't know if it's Lester's fault, but there is definitely a problem folks. I have to agree with DJK about the BS treatment statement. Everything in life is a two way street.

hitting women is not coach erb's fault. These guys just think they're all stars, and when the coaches make it hard on them after they make mistakes, they probably get all butt-hurt over it

This is the problem.

When a player commits to Iowa, he is committing to become a part of the team/family. When a kid goofs up, he should expect some form of discipline. You live through an learn from the discipline. You DON'T quit - you MAN UP.

Other than injuries, it's part of the job to keep his players on the team, and to keep them from breaking the rules. These players are obviously not getting the message; it's only natural to look at the messenger(s). Since he is their position coach, he is looked to for some answers.
