Wegher, Hampton, Robinson, McCall, Coker

I like that DJK is still a huge hawk fan despite how his career ended. Not being from Iowa he could have easily quit caring

I agree, as a manager or business owner, etc. if you have a high turnover rate you have to take a look at it and ask yourself why. Same situation here... DLine and RB's both...
Well the D line tends to create 1st round draft picks which might be the reason why they always leave a year early :D but in all seriousness I could have not said it better myself. It is crazy to think that if everything went perfect all these guys would be on our roster and not one of them made it past Sophomore year. The only person I don't feel completely sour is for Jewel who had injuries all the time.

dont forget Rodney Coe!!! Where was Erb when he was doing his homework??? not holding his hand... that darn Erb was pry doing something silly like caring for his family

Wegher--"personal"...and, "See Brandon Wegher at Oklahoma" (or not)
Hampton--2 ACL injuries. Suspended for 1st game of 2010 season.
Robinson--Suspended, then arrested for marijuana
McCall--Suspended
Coker--Suspended

Of those the ONLY one who didn't run into "trouble" with U of IOWA was Wegher. The fact he didn't last at Oklahoma and didn't even qualify at IWCC say, "This guy may be more trouble than he is worth".

Yes, it sucks losing them. But, if we were ISU, OSU or the average SEC school, they'd still be here ('cept maybe Wegher).

Hardly attributable to "bad" coaches, though.

This is the problem.

When a player commits to Iowa, he is committing to become a part of the team/family. When a kid goofs up, he should expect some form of discipline. You live through an learn from the discipline. You DON'T quit - you MAN UP.

When you are innocent of what they say you f'd up and you still get the discipline that is where the problem is, kind of hard to suck that up when you getting short end of the stick.
