Week 1 Big Ten Predictions

Here are my picks for Big Ten games this week.

Marshall @ Ohio St
OSU should roll in this one. Everyone's eyes will be on Pryor to see if he has taken that next step.
Ohio St 38
Marshall 7

Towson @ Indiana
Towson is FCS and terrible. Indiana actually has a lot of firepower returning on offense. They have no D, but it won't matter.
Indiana 44
Towson 20

Minnesota @ Middle Tenn St
I don't know why Minnesota agreed to play this game on the road on a Thursday night to start the season. Doesn't seem like a great idea to me. I know MTSU is without one of their top players, but Minnesota lost their entire D (virtually) and returns a lot of players on a very poor offense.

Middle Tenn St 24
Minnesota 20

Youngstown St @ Penn St
Penn St announced they will go with a true Frosh at QB, interesting. Royster will need to carry this team early in the year and he should be able to here.
Penn St 31
Youngstown St 7

W Michigan @ Michigan St
MSU should have a very solid offense and an ok D. They could be a dark house candidate to compete for a B10 title this year. I think WMU may keep this somewhat close for awhile, but Cousins will be too much.
MSU 38
Western Michigan 17

Illinois vs Missouri
Illinois is terrible. Maybe they will prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

Missouri 31
Illinois 14

Purdue @ Notre Dame
I think Purdue will be a bowl team this year and could surprise a team or two. I'm very interested to see how Kelly does at ND. I think this will be a shootout.

Notre Dame 41
Purdue 31

Connecticut @ Michigan
This is a very compelling game. RichRod needs to win this one, but I think the Huskies get an upset in the Big House

Connecticut 27
Michigan 24

Northwestern @ Vanderbilt
A tough game to call. I'll give the slight edge to the home team

Vandy 26
Northwestern 24

Wisconsin @ UNLV
Wisconsin seems to do pretty well in these types of games. As long as they feed Clay the ball 25-30 times, they will have no issues.

Wisconsin 34
UNLV 17

Eastern Illinois @ Iowa
I fully expect Iowa's first team D to pitch a shut out. Hopefully the O Line can open some holes for Robinson. If Stanzi can avoid bad interceptions this game should get out of hand by no later than the 3rd quarter. Go Hawks!!

Iowa 41
E Illinois 0

I'll give it a good minus the commentary, Bud already provided enough details there.

Ohio State - 41
Marshall - 13

Indiana - 34
Towson - 10

MTSU - 30
Minnesota - 20

Penn State - 27
Youngstown State - 6

Michigan State - 35
Western Michigan - 17

Missouri - 38
Illinois - 27
I'm actually giving the Illini some credit here. For some reason I think this will be relatively close.

Notre Dame - 27
Purdue - 20

Michigan - 26
Connecticut - 19

Northwestern - 24
Vanderbilt - 21

Wisconsin - 38
UNLV - 21

Iowa - 34
Eastern Illinois - 3

Game I'm looking most forward to (besides Iowa of course) is UConn @ Michigan, but also very intrigued by Purdue @ Notre Dame.

OSU wins somewhat ugly, 31-14ish. With Miami upcoming Tress won't show much. Porbably be a pretty boring game to watch unless you're a buckeye fan. That is how it's went in the past under JT and I dont expect that to change much. The real test of how good this team is will be on Sept. 11th.

Missouri 31 Illinois 17

Ohio State 34 Marshall 10

Minnesota 27 Middle Tennessee 20

Wisconsin 38 UNLV 24

Northwestern 24 Vanderbilt 20

Notre Dame 23 Purdue 21

Michigan 30 Uconn 27

Michigan State 33 Western Michigan 14

Penn State 31 Youngstown State 7

Indiana 48 Towson 12

Iowa 42 Eastern Illinois 7
