Website is dead

I think it's definitely more than ten. It's not unusual for people to just read and not comment. I remember seeing that over fifty people have opened and looked at some of the links I have shared.

We will see what happens once the season starts up. I think this upcoming season is going to be really important for Iowa fans as far as following the football program. If we have a 7-5 season, or even an 8-4 season I think fans interest will really start to wane on Hawkeye Nation after this year.

I mean what QB do we have coming in next season that will get fans excited going forward. Right now, there is a lot of hope that the offense will really step up this season and that the defense will be just as good if not better than what we have seen in the last five or so years.

The offense really hurt this program and it's really amazing how much better it was last year compared to the previous three years before Lester got here. It takes time for players to really understand offensive schemes and instill them into their natural abilities.

It is vital for Lester to show he can be successful moving forward. The last thing that needs to happen is for Lester to just produce a slightly better offense in year two. It is especially vital regarding recruiting.

Let's be honest about basketball also. Talk is cheap and it is vital for Ben to show he can compete at a higher level than Fran did. That's what fans want and expect. If both programs really struggle this upcoming season fans will turn to tailgating as their main attraction in the fall and will not be attending the basketball games.

I don't expect that to happen. I really think both programs will do very well and get the ball rolling and moving forward.
It’s Alive!!! This site is immortal!

I would agree with that.

I was checking out other forums and the only non-pay one I found with a lot of interaction was Hawkeye Lounge. But if you're new and post they will harass you like crazy. A bunch of assholes over there.
Probably Iowa State fans pretending to be IOWA fans............... that would explain the asshole part, lol.

The fact that there is an open thread about how this site has gone down the tubes, and this is not the first time this has happened, and yet the "owners" whoever these geniuses are, don't bother to provide any sort of update or information about the site, tells you all you need to know. The front page of the site has not been updated in many months, and the only thing happening is this message board, such that it is.

The owners much get some ad revenue that is still coming in. Whatever you do, don't click on any ads on this site. Why help out a site owner that does not care at all about their customers. Maybe the revenue dries up at some point such that the owners will sell it to someone who actually gives a shit about making the site good.

I will keep posting on the site as long as the lights are on because I do enjoy the back and forth with the regular posters. While the site sucks, this forum is pretty damn good when you gents are posting thoughts and opinions.

I think Jon at one point made an offer to buy it from them, but they were asking a ridiculous amount. As far as the front page goes it they would just let us post relative stories having to do with the different U of I sports programs as we find them, that would at least bring a sign of life to the front page.

Just letting the same stories just hang there isn't getting any interest. Heck just having the ability to do nothing more that put up Caitlin stories would generate a lot of interest on the front page. A lot of women still follow what Caitlin is doing and I am sure they would be sitting down and checking out Cait's stories and the things going on in her life right now.

My wife would sit down and watch the Men's football and basketball games when I had them on but when Caitlin came onto the scene she was looking up TV schedules wanting to know when she could watch the women's games. Also, as long at whomever does it is always revealing the original source (authors) of the stories how would that be any different than what has gone on for all these years when we post links? It drives traffic to the site which is win, win for everyone. Just as long as you're not just copying and posting from paid sites or not acknowledging the origins of the stories.

I have MSNBC as my home page and every time I log on to my home page there is always Iowa sports news listed on the main page as they know what my interest is in............. thus all the links I share. Also, I spend a lot of time on YouTube reading all kinds of stuff, Hawkeyes, the newest car and truck technology, automobile recalls and WTF is going on with that??? Almost every automobile maker is having serious recalls due to engine or transmission problems.

Here I am serious considering upgrading from my 2011 Honda CVR with only 110 K miles on it and then I read I can put 250 to 300 K miles on that exact same vehicle as long as it has been maintained properly. I am like Huh??? The average price of a new 2025 SUV is over $50 K now. May just take my time jumping into a possible mess with all the issues new cars are having especially having to do with hybrids issues. I guess my best bet is to go with a Toyota since they have had hybrids for over twenty years. On that subject several automobile manufactures are working together with Toyota to help build their cars. That speaks for itself.

Yeah, keep that Honda for at least another 100,000 miles

I have a 2012 Honda Civic with 70,000 miles and it runs like a wet dream

Just had to replace the tires so far
