I think Jon at one point made an offer to buy it from them, but they were asking a ridiculous amount. As far as the front page goes it they would just let us post relative stories having to do with the different U of I sports programs as we find them, that would at least bring a sign of life to the front page.
Just letting the same stories just hang there isn't getting any interest. Heck just having the ability to do nothing more that put up Caitlin stories would generate a lot of interest on the front page. A lot of women still follow what Caitlin is doing and I am sure they would be sitting down and checking out Cait's stories and the things going on in her life right now.
My wife would sit down and watch the Men's football and basketball games when I had them on but when Caitlin came onto the scene she was looking up TV schedules wanting to know when she could watch the women's games. Also, as long at whomever does it is always revealing the original source (authors) of the stories how would that be any different than what has gone on for all these years when we post links? It drives traffic to the site which is win, win for everyone. Just as long as you're not just copying and posting from paid sites or not acknowledging the origins of the stories.
I have MSNBC as my home page and every time I log on to my home page there is always Iowa sports news listed on the main page as they know what my interest is in............. thus all the links I share. Also, I spend a lot of time on YouTube reading all kinds of stuff, Hawkeyes, the newest car and truck technology, automobile recalls and WTF is going on with that??? Almost every automobile maker is having serious recalls due to engine or transmission problems.
Here I am serious considering upgrading from my 2011 Honda CVR with only 110 K miles on it and then I read I can put 250 to 300 K miles on that exact same vehicle as long as it has been maintained properly. I am like Huh??? The average price of a new 2025 SUV is over $50 K now. May just take my time jumping into a possible mess with all the issues new cars are having especially having to do with hybrids issues. I guess my best bet is to go with a Toyota since they have had hybrids for over twenty years. On that subject several automobile manufactures are working together with Toyota to help build their cars. That speaks for itself.
