We were one of the last 4 out...

The Hawks need to take this Nit seriously and use it to work on DEFENSE! This can be a very important time for these Hawks. Get serious Hawks! Play hard and play as a team! Being lazy won't be tolerated! Go Hawks!

I think it's possible that had KSU not beaten Baylor and URI not won their conference tourney that we would have gotten in...

Here's my order of worst losses.

Minnesota (because how it went down)
Illinois at home (hangover from minny)
Nebraska (jok's half court pass)
Omaha
Memphis

Lots of What ifs. Too many.

Next year we need to leave no doubt,

"What if" is kinda the theme of Iowa basketball over the last 30 years.

What if they didn't blow the lead against UNLV in 1987
What if Davis does a better job with that core over the next 2 years
What if the Chris Street tragedy didn't happen
What if Iowa wasn't seeded 9 after finishing 2nd in the B1G in 1996-1997
What if Recker doesn't get hurt in 2000-2001
What if Alford didn't lose the team the following season
What if Brunner hits 2 FTs late against NW St
What if the team didn't implode in 2013-2014

Like I said, it's their theme

What if the team didn't implode in 2015-16.. What if Raef LaFrentz had come to Iowa... Etc. etc.

We could do this all day. :(

If Iowa plays team ball they could roll to the championship. If they stand around and watch Jok try to pad his stats, they'll get bounced.

I have read any number of arguments that "what ifs" could be interjected in a variety of situations during this past regular season. However, I would reject virtually all of them, since I see the horrible officiating at the end of the MN game as a very different circumstance. The bottom line is that if the call had been made correctly, and taking into consideration Iowa's total season, we would now be in the NCAA tournament. The idiot who screwed that game up for Iowa owes us a public apology and a resignation. This is big time basketball, not without a lot of $$ at stake. Sorry for my rant, but this one will take a long time for me to forget.

That game for me is not really a "what if" because we we were ahead and had the game won if not for the referees

It's not the first time we've been ripped off by minny!
