We still control our own destiny

We need to win out and that is not an insurmountable task. Ferentz-led teams get downright salty in November. If we win out, we will go to the conference title game and will likely play Wisconsin, with an opportunity to get the trophy back.

I think the most recent years (2-2, 1-3, 1-2) are most relevant to how this year's team is going to perform. I didn't just pick the three worst years, I picked the three most recent ones. But if you want to compare the entire KF era, the Hawkeyes are 24-19 in November (.558) compared to 100-71 overall (.585), So the Hawkeyes are actually worse in November than they are the rest of the year. Either way, you are wrong.

Yeah, well we're not exactly playing the Ball States and Northern Iowas and Western Michigans of the world in November (except that one time).

posts like this one are why I am not growing tired of okeefe and why I am a fan of okeefe.

Does losing to Northwestern give Iowa the advantage in a head-to-head tiebreaker? The Hawkeyes are no longer in the driver's seat.

Actually, Iowa doesn't control it's own destiny.

If Iowa wins out and Northwestern loses at least once, then Iowa wins the division.

If Iowa and Northwestern both win out and Nebraska goes 2-2, Northwestern wins the division.

If Iowa and NW both win out and Nebraska goes 3-1, Nebraska would win the division because of the conference's fourth divisional tiebreaker (record against all common conference opponents--Nebraska would be 4-0 against common opponents, while Iowa and NW would both be 3-1 with losses to Penn State).

We don't control our own destiny but technically, we still have a shot to win the division and technically it's still a pretty good shot since we wouldn't need that much help. Getting into the title game with a 6-2 record and then getting into the Rose Bowl by beating what might the third best team in the division wouldn't feel right.

Losing by 90 to Oregon in this hypothetical scenario wouldn't be fun either.
