We lost a great Hawk fan last week...

During a tragic boating accident while fishing last week my Dad lost his life. He was a U of I grad, 45 year season ticket holder and more importantly a fantastic husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. I was able to spend last Saturday night enjoying another Hawkeye victory with him. In fact his last days were spent fishing and enjoying life the way he did with his 3 sons, sons in law, a grandson and nephew. He will be greatly missed.

Thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

So sorry to hear about your loss, Thom. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Remember the good times and cherish them always.

"He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction."

Sounds like your father was a fabulous man. Seems this old poem on success fits him well. My condolences.
