Only thing in the way is Ohio State
And Wisconsin
And Michigan
And Minnesota
And Northwestern
But I am a bit more confident now than after MSU game

We should've beaten PSU and MSU. That's 100% on the 5 million dollar man. It does feel good to no longer be in last place in the West knowing we have the horses to win our division.
they need a second back....a back with some physicality, at this point I really don't care where it comes from.
Agreed, I think we have 3 very capable backs, all with different ways they can contribute. Use them all...get AW in space.
Where is . . .
BigD
DDThompson
Melrose
Deanwormer
huckfinn
proudhawk
grandpahawk
Stanzi
Gester
intimidator
etc. ???
They constantly complain about threads with critiques but never post in positive threads. Kinda says a lot about their purpose here.
Despite all. Our fate is in our hands. Merely have to beat NW, Wisconsin, and Nebraska away. Hold home field and beat Minnesota, Ohio State, and Purdue at Kinnick.....
Appears, on paper, to be the Tasks of Hercules, but winning the game against BYE next weekend could set the table for an outstanding run.....
Not impossible, but also within the boundaries of recent Hawkeye seasons.....
More than likely we will not be playing a game in Indianapolis, but could realistically go 4-2, losing to Ohio State and Wisconsin. That, in my opinion, would be a very good year, all things considered.....
Go Hawks.....

I liked the second sentence. MSU and PSU showed they are good teams and Iowa should've beat both of them. That means Iowa has the horses to run the table. The reason they won is because Brian has finally had enough of his father's moronic refusal to think outside the box. When Iowa goes outside Kirk's comfort zone, whether it be on special teams (onside kicks/fakes) defense (blitzes) offense (trickeration) Iowa instantly gains a strategic advantage against their opponents.
Today was proof of that. When Iowa is predictable and plays field position (like it does 99% of the time with Kirkball) it can be beat by anyone including an FCS squad. When Iowa plays like the offense has to carry as much water as the defense/special teams it becomes an elite program.
Like PJ Fleck Elite, or actually Elite?
Not so sure Iowa is Elite even at their best, at least not Alabama/Clemsen level, of course, no one really seems to be right now.
Recruiting does seem to be trending up though, talent level overall seems improved.
Iowa has some horses. And if we lose, you've set up your platform beautifully.
Good point raised here and easy to get carried away with enthusiasm seeing Iowa play a little differently. I see us ever so slowly trending away from the this is how we play beat you with execution mentality we've all witnessed for years under Kirk depending on your age. Other posters have mentioned that Brian has more of the Hayden Fry scratch where it itches approach to things and whether you like it or not he represents our future. Kirk has to let go of the reins at least to some degree and the beginnings of this transition makes things interesting.
