We deserved to be in the play in game.

The way we have slid at the end of the season... and the NCCA still used the dumb F***** RPI over anything else.

Now fran must learn to not schedule cupcakes that destroy our RPI - almost effed us out of the tournament.

The RPI was in the mid-20's/low-30's until we started losing to Indiana, Illinois (AT HOME) and North-*******-western.

The highest I ever saw our RPI at was like 33-34

Top ten team and RPI in the 30's... that's not leaving much wriggle room.

No we need to stop playing some bottom feeders in the non con.

Losing games that we shouldn't have in conference play was what did us in, not the non-conference schedule. Texas, Louisville, K-State and San Diego State all had OOC SOS ranked in the 150-200 range right with us, yet they all received higher seeds because they had better wins during conference play. Iowa didn't get those wins and lost to some of the conference bottom feeders down the stretch. THAT is what landed us here, not our non-conference schedule.

I didn't say our late slide wasn't part of it - in fact that's the first thing I mentioned.

Our RPI was never great all year... At one point we were ranked higher than ISU and their RPI was 20 pts higher... and this one during the conference season.

An RPI in the 20s/30s is plenty solid. And it didn't take a dive until we started losing every other night of the week. It's pretty simple: beat Indiana, Illinois and Northwestern, and we're probably looking at a 7 seed.

I don't have any issue with the play in game and I am in the camp that they aren't "in" unless they win. The Hawks could have avoided this by beating either IL or NW. They have a chance to redeem themselves and earn it.

TN is a tough draw, IMO. It will be a hellofa test.

Another guy at work and I alternate years to do the company pool. Theoretically its his year to do it. But since the controller quit and he is interim controller( of a 700 Million
dollar company) he probably wont have time. If I do it the first round is included(despite some ********). Since the Hawks are in it I will include it or someone else can do it. We used to have two offices but now have only one so it should be simpler.

We're right where we deserve to be. I'm really interested to see how we do against a team NOT from the Big 10...I have no reason to feel this way, but a win in this game could turn our momentum up as fast as it nosedived earlier in the season.
