Actually, with basketball a turnaround can often be an overnight event. That's why the last ten years or so have been so frustrating. A couple transfers, jc kids, etc. See Iowa State. Remember in basketball, recruiting is everything. Of course you need a good coach and mentor to keep players in class and on the right path on the court as well. Fran so far in my mind has been above average in his recruiting. But he's no George Raveling either![]()
Almost being the keyword. Let's all enjoy the ride and not meltdown if we don't win out. This is a process not an overnight cure.
In Fran We Trust.
Wow, really? Nothing like a almost back or we're back thread.Almost being the keyword. Let's all enjoy the ride and not meltdown if we don't win out. This is a process not an overnight cure.In Fran We Trust.
lets not bring isu into this. he went the transfer route with a lot of proven players. anyone who knew anything knew they had a lot of talent because multiple guys had played and played well at other schools. fred is now trying to bring in the hs players. we will know more about him as a recruiter/coach as those players develop. isu will show who they truly are in about 3 yrs. fran already has those hs recruiting and development times done now it is about maintaining after next yr. we still have bumps in the road left but they are bumps not hills/mountains.
Really? The only players you can say were proven were Allen, McGee, Lucious, and Clyburn (the latter of the two haven't played at isu yet). White had a full year off playing bball, didnt prove himself at Minnesota, and Booker didn't set the world a fire at SIU either.... Hoiberg has brought in a solid recruiting class, so the whole transfers graduating thing won't be an issue.
