Way too early 2020 mock drafts

Yes, way Way too early.

Besides, AJE will be drafted in 2021...

Cyfan is saying they will have someone go ahead of Epenesa next year and that he's overrated. I didn't know it's been 46 years since an Iowa State player has been chosen in the first round. We need to bring that stat up more.

To put that in perspective, Iowa has had two coaches win enough to become certain hall of fame coaches in that timeframe.

CBS Sports is hard to take seriously when they don’t project Eppy as a first round pick.

Saw one mock that had Eppy at #8 and Alaric Jackson at #30. Didn't know Alaric was regarded that highly, thought it would have been Wirfs. But what do I know.

All three of these guys would be declaring early just like the four that got drafted this year. Must be a trend.

One key aspect if a player wins a conference or national award they may never be that valuable again. Desmond King is the only one I remember not doing that.

There's a lot of football to be played before any of this becomes reality. But it si fun to speculate.

So, what is the plan with respect to which guy is playing which tackle spot? I believe there was a notion that Wirfs is more flexible and can play right, whereas Jackson is not? If so, I wonder if that helps or hinders Wirfs. Right tackles do not go in the Top 10, but if he has the ability to play both, maybe that is a plus in scout's minds? Still, hard to know if he is a dominant left tackle if he is not playing left tackle.

Insights?

I've wondered this as well. You typically want your best tackle protecting the QBs backside, in Stanley's case that would be the left tackle. Maybe Jackson has squatter's rights, he was there first.

We need good years from both guyss, we'll see how it plays out, injuries always play a part as well.

Just heard on Folic and Wingo show that McShay has Stanley being 3rd QB taken and picked at #30. Didn't some people also view him as a potential 1st Rd Pick for the 2019 draft this time last year?

Maybe it's just me, but when so much talent is on a roster, unless we win at minimum the conference, if not the national title, I'm coming back.
But I know it's not just me, because I have heard players say that's why they are coming back. Winners win, that's what they do.
And IDC what anyone says (I already have the argument loaded) that plays a big part in the draft process as well. It comes in the character part.
That said, nobody is going to fault anyone if they are a lock for the first round. But nobody is going to fault them for waiting another year either.
I don't think Peyton Manning regretted his Sr year. Could he have gone the year before? Probably. Would he have had the NFL career he had if he did? Probably not.

McShay has AJE and Stanley going in the 1st round. I really hope that happens because it will mean Stanley (Iowa) had a great year.

Hopefully Kirk & Son can transform from a staff that develops first round talent into a staff that can produce first round, championship team results.

Those close ones that are fumbled away need to be eliminated, start with beating Wisconsin like a drum rather than peeing down your legs.

I'm surprised he didn't learn from his mistake last year. There is zero chance Stanley sniffs the first round unless his accuracy magically improves by 8 to 10 percent.
