WATN: Colin Cole, Family Join Fight Against Cancer

Great story! Thanks. He bounced around in the NFL and was never a star, but his ability to stick to his plan gave him a lot of years. Sounds like his spouse is very successful, also. And, three kids!

Thank you.

Colin was one of my favorite people to cover when he played here. Even at a young age, he was mature, very down to earth and had a good perspective on life. Not surprised by his successes and happy for him. He was a key part of the rebuild.

Iowa got some good ones out of Florida back then. Glad to see they're still trying, but it's hard.

Would not mind seeing him back on the iowa staff
Bret's contributions to the 2002-2004 teams went laregly unappreciated by casual fans, probably because he was long gone by the time his efforts came to fruition. I'm happy for Colin though. Great read, great series. Colin out worked more talented players who were drafted higher and got sexier signing bonus money and he ended up outlasting most of them.

My favorite WATN was Matt Roth, one of my favorite Hawkeyes.
I would love to see him get into coaching; you think he could crank up a locker room before a game? How would you like to be a fly on the wall when he has to ream out lazy player? How would you like to be the player?

Thank you.

Such a great Hawk. And such a good man

I met this guy once. He came into red lobster when I was working. I could tell he was hurting by the way he walked but he seemed like a great dude.
