Watching the post spring scrimmage from afar ...

I got to say that Kirk Ferentz in the video of the post practice, appears to be more relaxed than what I had seen in the past. I always thought when he appeared on camera that he looked have sick (the past couple of years). But yesterday he looked just downright youthful. Anyone else notice that?

I agree. Just his demeanor seemed better. He didn't look as tired out. I think all of the changes that have taken place have simply been good on many fronts ...

If you have ever had pressure from a bad job, bad boss, etc and then finally made the change to quit the job, get a new job to get a new boss, etc then you can understand how KF looks better.

Not to say KF's situation is a bad boss or job but I am sure his personal goals and thoughts on how the team performs and wins games has added some stress the last couple of years. Change can be rejuvenating.

Hate to admit it but changing offensive and defensive coordinators is a breath of fresh air. The past 2 years it really did seem that we were playing "not to lose" rather than playing to win. It is a fine line, but even a dumb fan like me could sense it.

Hopefully we'll see a more aggressive style on both sides of the ball. It would really be refreshing, because this coaching staff knows how to develop players.

I don't think it can be underestimated the dose of energy/adrenaline this program has to feel from all of the changes. Not only what Davis brings -as he said in his presser his "39th Spring football" - but especially now for Kirk having Brian on his staff.

Maybe we are putting too much into this, but he did look like a guy who was a little burnt out.

I have listened to Kirk and watched Kirk through his tenure like everyone else, so we all view things differently. When I see Kirk I see a guy who doesn't roller coaster much. He seems overall pretty even keel to me...I just don't see any dramatic change as some would suggest.

I agree, at a small level I think there is a bit more enthusiasm or he seems slightly refreshed, but people calling him haggard and saying the previously looked sick on camera and now looks more youthful...give me a break, he wasn't just cured from leprosy.

Not sure he's going to look youthful after this season's over. Talk about possible pressure being on him if we go 6-6 or so.

He got short with a couple reporters at presser or two last year, bags under the eyes, yeah some people are exaggerating a little bit, but he does look re-energized some.
