Watching Bulaga right now

He's looking fantastic. Think he got his 1st series at LG, and the last series at LT. He slid 1:1 in pass pro and kept fantastic leverage and base, stoning the DE trying to pressure back-up QB Flynn. Bulaga looks even better than he did in '08, in particular his feet and quickness.

2nd series I thought he was basically equally as impressive. Shielded the DE very well on a running play and continued to maintain a good base, leverage and positioning in pass pro. I think he looks quicker than what I ever saw him at IA (which makes it hard not to think about what could have been had he stayed...).

I look for BB to be the starting LG this season. He has looked pretty good thus far. Hopefully he can stay healthy and do a better job at protecting Aaron Rodgers than the line did last year........

Overall I thought he had a very good night. A couple times in pass pro he got off balance and backed up into Flynn, but still held his ground enough that the QB had time to get his throws off and not hinder Flynn's mechanics. I was really impressed w/ BB's run blocking late in the 2nd quarter - he really moved some DL on the drive right before half, and Seattle played pretty much their starters the entire 1st half. I thought overall grading him tonight it's a solid B+/A- type of game. I'm no OL guru, but he unquestionably held his own and didn't have any glaring errors. And his feet looked fantastic at some points, in particular being left "on an island" 1:1 w/ a DE. It's just hard for me not think, 'what could have been' had he decided to come back, in particular w/ his age - he's only been out of HS for 3 years - still remarkable to me he's that athletically mature and gifted at such a young age, and from interviews, a fairly cool and level-headed guy. Awesome to see what he's doing now and know he was part of the Captain's program a short time ago. Great ambassador for the future.
