Watchin PSU/IU right now and feelin.........

The last 3 and a half minutes of that game Indiana was 0/2 on FG, 2/4 on FT, had 5 turnovers, and was outscored 15-2. The word pathetic doesn't do that performance justice.

if Iowa can come close to matching the intensity of last Sats game they will blow both those teams out of their own arena

For sure. It will be difficult to do at psu though. When they walk into that stadium/arena/whatever with no energy in it cause there are so few people there, it makes it tough to get the energy flowing. Feels like a glorified scrimmage.

Unless Crean has a top ten recruiting class, he might be gone.....

Although he has had some top ten recruiting classes on occasion and failed.....

The sand is pouring through the hourglass for him.....

Not sure how I feel about that. The nerd can recruit but sometimes I think he has to be in control to much on the sidelines. Sometimes you just gotta let your team play.

But Indiana is a program that should be reloading every year. The state of Indiana is a basketball state and every kid dreams of being a Hoosier.

Lots of unhappy posters over at Peegs. The majority seem to want Clappy gone, but realize that his buyout is pretty substantial. Crean really blew his best chance last year.

If he was in control, he would've called timeout before they could get a 5 second violation on the inbound pass, or before either one of the 10 second turnovers, or all of the above. I read a little bit about Crean, and apparently his high school basketball coach called him the biggest tool on the team.

This. If he couldn't reach the Final Four with Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo, Christian Watford, Ferrell, Sheehey and Jordan Hulls, he ain't gonna make it.

If he couldn't reach the Elite 8 with that team. He could be trending toward being the Scott Drew of the Big Ten: taking 13-5 talent to a 5-13 record.

Crean and Groce have to be the worst coaches in the B1G.

I can't think anyone would be worse. Painter is struggling, but his problem is more about recruiting than coaching ability.

1. Izzo
2. Matta
3. Ryan
4. Fran
5. Beilein
6. Painter
7. Pitino/Collins/Miles
10. Chambers
11. Crean
12. Groce

Those three guys at #7 are all guys who I think are damn good coaches, but they're either too new or working a rebuilding project so they're difficult to rank higher (although I think all three could move up the list within the next few years). Miles and Collins, in particular, have a lot of potential. Few coaches in the country have gotten as much from their players as those two have.

I love Fran, but he doesn't belong in the Top 4 at this point. Belein is set up to win another conference title after losing Hardaway, Burke and playing most of the year without McGary. Dude can flat out coach.

Crean and Groce are recruiters. Sometimes that is enough, but you do have to recruit really well to make that work.

I was also thinking Tork had Belein ranked a little low, I might put him as high as 2nd behind Izzo. But Fran has to be considered one of the best as well, the job he has done at Iowa after Lick left the program a mess is a minor miracle. But you can make a case for any of the coaches and ranks between 2-5.

Beilein didn't have a team finish over .500 in the B10 until his fifth season at Michigan. Not saying Fran is a better coach than him, because I do think Beilein is a hell of a coach, but just another stat that shows what a terrific job Fran has done in his time here.

Beilein is above Fran and everyone on the 7 line is above Painter.

I can buy both of those. Those three were just difficult to rate against the rest of the conference all very fresh faces, but they've shown a lot of potential. Groce is just obviously bad and Crean would be nowhere if it weren't for Dwyane Wade.

I've always thought Assembly Hall has a weird look to it on TV. That's one venue I'd like to visit in person 1 day.

A guy that I used to work with said it is a funky place, but said it was the best atmosphere he has ever been to watching a College basketball game. His words: "This is a place you have to visit before they renovate it, or you die."
