Wadley to the Slot?

Actually, using him in the slot limits his run plays to jet-sweeps/reverses, whereas throwing to him out of the backfield, wheel routes, safety-valve stuff actually widens his scope of effectiveness.

Bob, I don't want him in the slot exclusively, but would love to see them move him around a lot. Hell, I'd even put him out wide occasionally! Running him between the tackles repeatedly when they stack the box is pointless!

He was here for fall camp but I think his arrival might have been a week or so late - I know Rob mentioned it in another thread (at the time) but don't recall exactly how much he missed.

Yes, per Rob, he was at least a week late for camp. I won't be surprised to see him get reps and/or really be used next season. But a week late to fall camp--well, late summer camp, I guess--puts him behind everyone in the WR ranks, I would imagine.

Agree on that. He could definitely be dangerous out of the slot. But...when he moves back into the backfield? It all but says, "Guess who's getting the ball?!" At least that's how I think it "could" end up.

That's why it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we pulled the FB off the field and put a Butler/IKM/Young on the field...especially out of the gun. Those 3 guys might not be the bruising blockers our FB's are, but they do provide an additional run threat and they might be able to at least get in someone's way long enough to spring a Wadley run. Or just put Wadley and any one of the 3 headed monster in split flow action...Penn State seemed to do this a couple times, using McSorely as the 2nd back. Just a different way to skin a cat...
