Virginia

This is kind of a dumb argument. I think everyone can agree that we wish Iowa's season would have gone as well as Virginia's up to this point. I also think we can all agree we would take Iowa's regular season over Virginia's if the Hawks end up playing further into March.

You are correct. It was an observation post. Why grape feels the need to be overly defensive of this team and turn it into an argument is odd.

I didn't mean to start an argument for argument's sake. I felt that the tone of your initial post, wherein you repeatedly referred to our team in the past tense, indicated that you had written this season off. I simply felt that was a silly thing to do with regard to a team that is going to make the tournament. It had no bearing whether it was Iowa you were speaking of, or say, Texas.

If that was not your intention, I apologize. You might want to pay attention to the words that you use in the future, though. I don't feel that I made an unreasonable inference given your use of the past tense referring to Iowa's season that is not yet over.

Virginia plays in a 15 team conference with the 5 best teams being Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, North Carolina and Pittsburgh. Next in line is Clemson...don't know if they could beat any B1G team other than maybe NW on a neutral court. Virginia lost on their home court by 10 to Wisconsin...puts them no better than 4th in the B1G.

Now let's go back to those other 4 quality teams in the conference.

@ Duke - Lost
NC - Won
@ Pitt - Won
Syracuse - Won

That's right they played the other 4 decent teams once each. Did I mention they are in a 15 team conference? You have to go all the way down to 7th place Florida State to find a team they played twice. Virginia would be middle of the pack in the B1G.

I'm glad I took a look at their schedule...might have actually taken them beyond the 1st weekend of the NCAA in my brackets.
Boom shakalaka

Virginia has a better team this year than they had last year.

Iowa has a better team this year than they had last year.

Iowa is better than Virginia.

For cripes sake. Part of the season is in the past, part is in the future. I would write my post the same way every time because it is still correct.

I may regret some things in my childhood and talk about them in the past tense, that doesn't mean I consider my life over.

Is this guy for real?

I apologized. Accept it and move on.

Those who mention last second winners fail to credit Luke Recker's heroics.
Coaches name not to be mentioned here.

The Big Ten is a better conference than the ACC. They're good and they're having a special season but I'm not so sure that if you swap us (they play our schedule, we play their) that we don't swap records also. At worst I think we'd just have the same record. In fact I see some similarities between us, they lost to some tough teams at home, beat a ranked team on the road and blasted a very good team at home. The difference is they've played a lot of bad teams in the lower half of the ACC and we've played less. If we played them it'd probably be a toss up (of course, pretty much any team we play would be a tossup)
