Video of Herbstreit Breaking down B1G

It's interesting that there are analysts out there who are former players who consistently give Iowa the benefit of the doubt..Herbstreit, Matt Millen, Mark May (I know, Pitt/Ferentz connection)...Phil Steele usually is favorable to Iowa as well.

Also, the things that Dinardo says about Iowa are different than he says about other places...sure, the BTN is usually not going to be critical and has good things to say about everyone, but its the kind of things they say about Iowa.

That video takes you by surprise at the end. Here they are talking up other teams and then at the end when he said who he thought would be in the championship game Iowa gets a mention.

He really likes Iowa. I thought he was going to drop trou during the Insight Bowl game when talking about them. He made some statement that he has referred some recruit in the past to Iowa or made some statement that he would or something on that line. Bob Davey has always really like Iowa to.

Anybody check the odds lately? What was it awhile ago? Doc sports is +1500 now. I figured we were going to get our best odds a month or two ago.

Herbstreit knows football.

I'm not buying into the hype about Nebraska winning the division and playing in the BTC game. The same logic can be used with Nebraska's QB as many say about Iowa's QB. Either one goes down and it changes that teams chances of winning a lot of games. Nebraska's QB is at a higher risk of injury because he likes to run with the football. Another factor not in Nebraska's favor is they have a young offense with a new offensive system and an unproven passing game. Keep the Corn Huskers one dimensional on offense and it becomes harder for them to score points. Also, Nebraska's schedule is brutal. On the other hand Iowa's schedule is set up favorably for a young team maturing as the season moves along.

Herbstreit has a point saying Iowa could be in the BTC game.

By the way next week I'm finalizing my preseason prediction based on what has transpired through preseason practice regarding the Hawks and their opponents. In May I tentatively predicted 7-5 with a loss in September, a loss to Penn State, a loss to Northwestern and losses to two of the final three teams played in November.
