Very Early 2011 Top 25...

We lose a lot of seniors and the team wasn't really that good down the stretch. 47 seems about right to me, sorry to say.

Im sorry but if you think navy and smu are going to be better than iowa next year then you have another thing coming. We shouldn't be in the top 25 to start out but it won't surprise me if we finish in the top 15 or so.

As much as you may wish something to be true won't make it any more true. I might go up as far as 35-40 but we're not going to finish in the top 15. C'mon.

Definitely hope I'm wrong though.

Maybe top 15 is high but number 47? Theres no way iowa should be behind some of those teams

Iowa is the 3rd or 4th best 7-5 team in the country (behind only USC and Northwestern (scoreboard) and maybe Notre Dame). I'd be shocked if Iowa didn't surprise some people next year because we are in some pretty good company in terms of where we stand relative to the other 7-5 teams out there and this year was a bit of a rebuilding year due to key losses at LB and OL, so I think we finish in the top 10 next year.

Depends on the bowl game. If we win big, we will probably get a few votes for the final top 25. However, the way we finished this year and with the guys we're losing, it's not surprising to think we'd be pretty much in the middle of the pack for the preseason polls.

Who cares what this guy thinks. Its some random guys list on the internet before the bowls. Missouri 8th? Uconn 22? Its not the AP

First, this year's bowl game is going to be a revisit of the Texa Alamo Bowl from 2006. We'll play good enough to get us whipped up about next year....that's all. All this talk about being the 3rd or 4th best 7-5 team is all BUNK! We weren't even a top 75 team at the end of the year. Senior leadership was bad..coaching was worse (that alone cost us the Wisconsin game). While I am over the incredibly poooooor showing this year. I agree though if Jimmy VBerg is any good we will surprise somebody in Iowa City next year.

Wait until after the bowl game. The last thing people remeber is Iowa bending over for Minny. If we beat Missou soundly we will jump up. Not worried.

Wisconsin at 13? Wow

Lose 1st round NFL caliber OL Carimi & Moffit, TE Hendricks, QB Tolzein, WR Gilreath & Andersen...no way is their offense anything near what it was this year, or last year. defense should be better.

what difference does it make at this point? I am sticking with a prediction of 9-3 for Iowa next season.

Of course if we blow a couple of close games, move it down to 7-5 or 6-6.

If we get a an upset or two move it up to 10-2.

If this season did nothing else, it shows how close 12-0 or 11-1 is to 6-6 or 7-5.

(Recent history of 1997, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008, and 2009 further proves the point)
