Va Tech's Jerseys

one thing to keep in mind... as ugly as many of us think some of these gimmick jerseys are... there are many kids in the recruiting game that love'em.
 
I think it comes down to young people loving them and old people hating them...my dad thought they were dumb but all of my friends and I thought they were bada**
 
I'm 32, is that young or old? I thought both teams were pretty damn ugly.

flat black helmets was a cool idea, but not for a team with no black in their color scheme

Boise's grey logo was nice, but I didn't like the way it was over-scaled for the helmet

the worst offense was the jerseys colors, 2-tone grey for Boise and black for VT !?!?!

I liked Boise's pants, and I liked VT's logo-embedded numbers

If Iowa does something like this we should go straight flat black (helmet, jersey, pants, socks, shoes) with gloss gold tigerhawk and numbers

hm....pushin it lol jk. Boise's sucked, I agree with that. TCU's were horrible the other night also but nike got VT's right
 
I don't know how anyone could consider Nike got VT's jerseys correct. Black isn't even a VT color, let alone a FULL head to toe black. Nike said this was to honor the "original" VT football team as well as the corps of cadets... that is a HUGE stretch. WTF was up with the fill inside the numbers- that was just awful. the maroon to orange stripe on the black helmet you couldn't even figure out was maroon until you looked hard enough. nothing like orange cleats to accent the all black either.

there were a couple decent components to it, but the sum of all the parts were terrible.
 
I don't understand how anyone would be in favor of Iowa changing their jerseys. Those VT things were horrible. I thought the all black fad was dead but apparently not. You should wear your school colors not some new alt so you can sell another jersery to people who have the home/away already.

I would be very let down if Iowa adopted a Pro Combat jersey. Iowa is about tradition and seeing the black swarm come out on Saturdays, and the yellow pants no matter what, and finally those iconic black helmets.

You really wanna see the team in some bright gold jersey, logo only on one side of the helmet, numbers with crazy shapes inside of them, **** that.

Don't mess with success.
 
I wouldn't mind a pro combat jersey- just do it tastefully like Ohio State did last year with a throwback. Even their Pro Combat jersey this year is a throwback towards a 1942 style. I could have been in favor of our throwback jersey game this year against ball state being combat jerseys- and if the talk is us doing one next year, i can only pray it's a throwback (sans the banana peels) style.
 
BTW, I think we should bring back the wings for next year's throwback game ...
