I think Jok needs another year in school. He's a very good shooter at 85.2% FT, 43.1%FG, and 40.2% from 3 point land. He tends to have too many turnovers 1.4 TOPG and occasionally too many fouls. More work needed on the defensive end. He does have a bright future ahead of him. Overall, should be drafted early 2nd round (2017).Per the DMR, Jok has workouts scheduled with the Celtics and Pelicans but did not get invited to Chicago for Draft Combine.
This might sound a bit crazy, but JU probably sticks in the NBA if he can gain (quite a bit of) lower body strength and post people up. He's almost 6'-10" with a 7ft wingspan. I don't know that he'll even develop the handles to play the perimeter, unless he's just a spot shooter like Ballard. But at 85% from the line, get him down low and let him get fouled.
A key for Uthoff is if he can guard 3 guards. He shoots it well 38.2% from 3 point range, 81.3% FT, and 44.8% FG. He needs to bulk up to play the 4 spot. Overall, late 2nd round. I think he can make it in the NBA at the 3 spot. Otherwise, he would do outstanding in the D League or over seas.
JU reminds me of Teyshaun Prince, probably a better shooter than Prince, but Prince was/is a better defender. Imo, it all depends on his mental makeup, not lower body strength. JU has to believe he can play in that league otherwise he is going to get crushed.
Yeah, I like his 3 point shooting. He has decent quickness and ball handling. I think he would get overpowered by quite a few at the 4 spot. I think he can stay with the 3 guards though.Overseas is a no-brainer.....It is a matter of can he sneak in and be a late 1st rounder.
I say lower body strength because he seemed fall down, often, in traffic. A lot of the troubles he had, last season (don't get me wrong, JU had an excellent season overall) was when he got into traffic and he seemed to be pushed tot he floor quite often. I also don't think JU is a pure shooter from range. He's good, but not pure money.
Everything you say is true i just think JU is fragile when it comes to his mental makeup and that league will chew you up and spit you out if you do not have the utmost confidence.
Uthoff has all the skills to make it in the league, but what trj posted is spot on. I really don't think Jarrod has the mental toughness to handle the NBA. He always seemed to shrink when the pressure was on and the pressure then was nothing compared to what will come his way in the NBA.
Not so much anymore. I don't see him facing anything more physical than what he faced towards the end of the B1G season. To be honest, I keep going back and forth on whether Uthoff can make it in the pros.
After watching more NBA with the playoffs started, I'm back to saying he won't stick. The game is so much more physical and I don't think Uthoff can handle the physicality and although he shoots it well for his size, he doesn't handle it well enough to create his own shot and isn't quick enough or have a quick enough release running off screens.
Uthoff is interesting. I'm not sure he's quick/athletic enough for the 3 in the NBA. And he's not a typical 4 as he's not big/strong enough. His game was just a perfect fit for the college game. You know how people didn't think Draymon Green would be a good NBA player before he got going? Well for somewhat similar reasons I think the same of Uthoff that he's just a tweener with his size/skill set being what they are not fitting the NBA as well. That said he could very easily prove me wrong like Green has just in a different way. Uthoff won't be a defensive/rebounder/hustler like Green but he could find a shooting role easy enough. But again that kinda depends on what team takes him. If he were go to a team like the Spurs or Warriors that might be a perfect fit..... But if went to a team like the 76ers... I just don't want to think about that... I wouldn't wish that upon any player. Well except Niang he can go there.
