USC FIRES TWO COACHES AFTER LOSS TO IOWA

Outside of Slovis USC doesn’t have a lot of talent. They are going to suck for a while.

Yep, I think the alumni have cut off the school and the bagman. They'll watch it burn down until they get their way. Saw one of their podcasts on youtube and the director of High School relations was on. He didn't impress me at all.

Helton needs to clean house if he wants to survive next year. But even new coaches might not help as he has Alabama and Notre Dame in their first 3 games. USC could easily end up 1-2 after 3 games.

Even that style of O trying to throw it every single play pretty much won't work.... You're USC for peats sake you should have 3 of the top 30 RBs tripping over each other to play there. Why they would want to be one dimensional stylealistically is beyond me. They have a great QB. They usually do and always should. But you're making it easier on the D when you do that to prepare for. Now granted for half that game they were right in it and moved the ball on us. But it's tough to do all game long week in and week out it just is.

Look at what Dobbins and Etienne brought to their offenses on Saturday night. If you are totally reliant on passes to WRs, eventually you'll run into a team that is good enough to cover them or that will have a stifling pass rush, so you better have some variability in your offense if you want to win hardware.

This is what UW's D-coordinator Jimmy Lake had to say last year about defending Leach's air-raid:

Last year, after a 28-15 win for the Huskies in Pullman, the defensive coordinator was quoted as saying, “Next year maybe he’ll throw a little curveball, but it makes it very easy when you know what you’re going to get. … But knowing what I read about the head football coach here, he does things a little bit different way. So hopefully he remains here for a long time. That would be awesome.” (article)
UW has beaten them 7 straight times, and held them under 20 pts each time.
