For the record, if any of you go over to the USC message boards, they don't talk about Helton, they refer to him as Gomer (affectionately, I'm sure). From the sounds of the USC faithful, they want him gone now!

They’ve had 5 head coaches in the last 10 years; their ship has sailed. No change is gonna help, and musical coaches is the death knell of a program. Miami, nebraska, Tennessee, Florida State is starting to do it...
I get that the old guard of the donor bases can’t come to grips with not being title contenders so they throw multi million dollar temper tantrums, but they also see everything through the homer goggles and assume that every great coach is gonna want to come play for their dumpster fire if they just throw a bunch of money at it. And then when good coaches don’t come calling, they start grasping at straws with the guru weirdo types like Mike Riley and before you know it they’re playing MAC teams in a bowl game once every two or three years.

The right coach can get any program on track, but it goes to show that it's not that easy to simply go out and win big, even for supposed blue bloods.
My youngest daughter says because they put "marijuana" leafs on their helmets lol
It kinda makes me wonder how Ohio State continues to dominate year in and year out, no matter who their coach is.

Actually I thought the octogenarian was exceedingly profuse in his compliments about Iowa. What I heard was that he wishes they were like us. I’ve heard a lot of USC talking heads ***cough Reggie Bush cough*** that acted like the Hawks had no business being on the same field, but this guy clearly respects the team that just kicked their butts. And F that octogenarian in the video.
He’s stroked out with delusion; like I mentioned before, these silly fuckin goombas think they’re actually a good team that happened to shit the bed instead of a mediocre team that got beat by a better one.
USC fans —> Scott Frost called and said he wants you to come over and check out his new Bryan Adams CD and watch Friends.
Helton might still be let go in the near future. They have the money to pay him off, they have old money and big donors who have all the pull and say. They feel entitled. I dont know anything about the current AD and president of USC but would they have hired a bad AD recently?
From what I understand, there is a new president and a new AD. The president apparently came from UNC where she guided the university through that whole "fake classes" scandal and was hired at USC for that purpose only, to guide them through their scandals of admissions and improper benefits on the basketball program. The AD answers to the president. I also read somewhere that she really likes Helton as a person and he is a standup type guy, so for them to fire him and hire Urban with all his baggage is something she is not interested in. All of this is just a product of their past and it has caught up with them.
Face it, a lot of people knew USC made a mistake by not giving the full time job to Ogeron back after Kiffin was fired. Ogeron turned a flat team around on a dime and they played very well and he led them to 6-2. I remember reading that when Ogeron wasnt given the full time job heading into the bowl game he left and was upset. Dont blame him
and USC look where Ogeron is now, ha ha

I stopped watching less than two minutes in.Here you go. Guy on the right looks like he's about to go down before he starts talking.
yeah but their aggregate ranking averaged out is 38th in the country at usc. in so.cal. number of spots not withstanding thats a bad job there. and none of the states like 3 studd qb's from the area are going there.USC’s 2020 recruiting class is indeed disappointing. But to clarify, they only had 12-13 spots open for new scholarship players (next year)... so they only signed 12-13 guys. This is admittedly strange and not a good sign either. But for this reason, their recruiting class is ranked “last in the Pac 12”.
I guess we interpret things differently. I’ll give the remainder of your comments the consideration they deserve.False.
He doesn’t “respect the team that just kicked their butts,” he quite obviously feels that his team (USC) is still a national power and that their loss is due strictly to USC’s ineptitude rather than the superior game planning and execution of its opponent (Iowa). His compliments are hollow and manufactured, and he by far and away spends most of that interview lamenting his shit team as opposed to giving credit where credit is due.
If you interpret any of that ridiculous, bottom-of-the-barrel interview to be factual then you might as well self-ban yourself and find some other Hawkeye site to troll. Because that’s what you’re doing. Grow a pair, Francis.
Contrary to the oft-repeated shtick....in this game, it was the execution of the X's and O's and not the Jimmy's and the Joe's.I stopped watching less than two minutes in.
No one from Iowa expected that type of offensive explosion.
Our (USC) defense wasn't prepared
Five week (actually four) layoff
Limited tackling in eleven practices
Cry me a river. Iowa had the same layoff and limited practice schedule plus any disadvantages that travel may have had come into play.
The layoff is like this for every bowl team, every season. Here's what happened dude. Your team got their asses handed to them.
Dude has a hard on for how KF coaches. He would hire KF in a heart beat if he could it sounds like. He couldn't stop talking about the difference in tackling and the little things. It was interesting how he brought up during TOs Iowa has backup QBs throwing on the field. He liked that and so do I for the reasons he said. I get a kick out of hearing other folks two cents sometimes. It'd sure be rough to be a USC homer these days that's for sure. They aren't used to being down like this. Here you go. Guy on the right looks like he's about to go down before he starts talking.

It was so odd that we couldn't run the ball between the tackles well all yr. But boy could they run QB sneaks with the best of em. And those are when everyone in the building knew that's what we were going to do too. So I have a tough time making heads or tails of some of those trends. But there's no denying that they were what they were.False. I knew our offense would show up. I predicted 50+, which we would have hit had we not let up late. The guard play got shored up with the break and Iowa's offense looked like what I was expecting all year. We might not have totally elite speed on the outside, but we finally have some decent speed. The biggest problem with our offense right now is we are just too damned soft on the middle of the o-line. If we had just slightly better o-line play, this team would have been 12-0 or 11-1 and on its way to Indy to lose to OSU by 42. I don't think the scheme or play calling is bad, but when you have guard play as bad as Iowa's was most of the season, you can't run up the middle and the passing game breaks down because the QB has a tackle or MLB in his face before he can even set his feet. Watch the games like PSU and Michigan without the heat of the moment anxiety and you'll see what I mean. If we have a good QB on the roster and the line is shored up, this ball club is going to surprise a helluva lot of people next year.
I was super duper negative coming off the Wisconsin loss because of how bad the o-line looked, but they cleaned it up a little bit more each week as the season progressed and the offense got a lot better.
