On the Montel thread it was indicated that Tom has already had a few talks with the guys about cutting out the party type stuff and getting dedicated. Also you pointed out guys being sloppy with their weight cutting etc. on a different thread. In your opinion do some guys have a sense of entitlement and are riding the coat tails of the departed vets rather than being hungry to make their own marks?

By the way your updates are great and it rocks to get your perspective on things.

Sorry about not responding to this in a timely manner but I didn't see this post until just now. I don't think it is a sense of entitlement, I just think that these guys for the first time in their career are in a situation where they are not the guy when they stepped on campus. That can be a tough adjustment for most guys and we all know the transition you make from being a HS student to a college student and all the social stuff that is involved. It is a huge jump in committment when wrestling in college especially in the Iowa room. I think some of the guys have been slow to take to the committment, but now that these guys have to be counted on I think they will come around and have already have to a certain degree, with the nudging of the coaching staff.

its a very tough adjustment and i never made it i went 4 years in college never being comitted to the wrestling team just the drinking team and i regret it everyday
