Would be excellent not to end the season wondering if we'll get selected. "Play in" game was an embarrassment but what we deserved after the end of season melt down.
I agree to a point as well, cause it did seem like more of an embarrassment to be in the First Four rather than getting a nice seed for Thursday or Friday like it looked like Iowa would be heading with a month left in the season. But don't get it twisted, it was the first tournament appearance for Iowa since 2006, if someone had told me when Fran took over that we'd barely get into the tournament but none the less still get in, in year 4, most of us would have taken it and signed up for that right away. Had Iowa struggled early last season and found a way to sneak in, we'd all had been ecstatic. But that's not how it went down, it went down the opposite, instead of gaining momentum, it was lost. It's all about perception and the perception from a good portion of the Iowa fan base is that things are not exactly on the upswing. I get it. But, I honestly think that last summers over seas trip actually hurt this team more than helped in regards to mental and probably physical fatigue. I think the extra games and chemistry might show more this season with fresher minds and refocused goals. Or at least I hope.
