Yes, there is something else that factors in. In KF's case, it's a $650,000 bonus if he's still the coach on Jan 31, 2019. Click on the coach's pay and it will explain each situation.

Was surprised at Dantonio and Peterson. Chryst, not so much, because Wisky's known to be cheap and Shaw didn't shock me because it's Stanford and I didn't know how well their coaches were paid, since they're not exactly known as sports schools (because of their academics, not because their athletics are bad).

The reason I posted the names I did, is because Lovie and Frost getting paid more than KF, to me, says KF's contract is not the worst. Even Campbell and Fleck, who are about 1 million below KF is a joke. Hell, Minnesota gives away tickets for buying frozen pizzas. In case anyone forgot/missed it from gophersports.com:

I agree Lovie's contract is by far the worst at this point. Frost's looks bad but is still early I suppose. They were truly desperate in Lincoln. And delusional.

Barry is a ruthless, cheap, but successful bastard.

I would take Chris Petersen in a heartbeat. What he did at Boise was pretty remarkable and he is doing a real solid job at Washington.

I agree. If we finished 23rd every year and Kirk was 23rd in salary I doubt he would have many critics.

No offense but I think you are missing the point.

Mediocrity has been handsomely rewarded because of shrewd manipulation by Kirk and his agent aimed at a half competent AD. This mindset lowers our expectations and apparently makes blatant nepotism acceptable. These things should never be acceptable.

And if you buy Kirk's explanation from a few years ago that he temporarily sucked at coaching because he was too busy fundraising then I have nothing more to say other than he and Barta have no sense of priority, no sense of accountability, and feel no pressure to succeed in those areas that matter.

But hey just sit back and enjoy our 7 win seasons and enjoy another generation of Ferentz football coming to a stadium near you.
