Urban Meyer will own

Urban's coaching resume can't be questioned, but the game is still played with 11 players and on a field 100 yards long. If he can recruit like he did in FL, he'll succeed but there is no offensive silver bullet that's going to make OSU score 50 points a game and hold his opponents to under 20. DickRod was suppose to be an offensive genious too... that didn't last very long.

i hope they get him. i want the big 10 to be as good as it can be. if that means we have a tough team to play, bring it on. you wanna be the best, play the best. go hawks

And RRrod had the #1 offense in the league his last year. Perception vs. reality...

It won't hurt when you can get recruits that say things like this: “It’s the education part,†Washington continued. “I know all these schools athletically can offer me the same thing. The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you’re giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail.â€Â** That's from their latest verbal from yesterday. WOW!
link me that could you?

From my phone sorry-

I guess I am surprised by that... I thought Wisconsin was near the top in the country. Either way, it didn't lead to many national championships.

Cause RR never addressed the defense properly. 3-3-5 was a real bad idea.

PSU thought the same thing when they joined.
So did Nebraska.

UM will find out quickly enough the league doesn't give a damm about your reputation or previous works.

With that said, welcome Urban.

UM will quickly find out that the league doesn't have as much talent and speed too. He'll also find out that Ohio doesn't hold a candle to Florida when it comes to producing d1 prospects, but luckily he has better Florida connections than anyone else in the league that doesn't have as much talent and speed as the SEC.

Are you seriously being serious all the time? I can't imagine somebody being so consistently pessimistic about everything. Do you tell your wife everyday about how much hotter all of her friends are than she is?

Nice attempt at an analogy.... SEC has more speed and talent then the Big 10. It's not being pessimistic, it's not being funny or cute, it's just the cold hard facts.

"sorry honey, I love you and all, but have you seen Jennifer's a$$ lately? She is obviously putting in more work at the gym than you are. Thats a fact"

Then feel free to root for any of them from now on. I hate to tell you this, but your fandom will not be missed. Many of us Hawkeye fans realize that our team isn't the best or the most athletic, we just don't feel the need to bring it up every damn day. My analogy holds firm. I understand that there may be "hotter" women in the world than my wife, but I love her so I don't go around pointing it out to her every single day. And if I did, I expect her to tell me that if I think that others are so great, then go be with them.

don't encourage the ******.

good analogy, by the way - spot on.

since when is doooosh starred out?

He will absolutely dominate the Big 10. Ohio State knows how valuable it was to win 6 straight Big 10 Championships. That's why they're going to pay him almost $6M per year.

Urban Meyer will be great for the Big 10 and will raise the bar for everyone else.

His offense won two national championships in the SEC, which is a conference that head and shoulders above the Big 10. Herbstreits comments were correct. Big 10 defenses aren't near what SEC defenses are. Urban's offense will dominate.

Shouldn't you be talking about how we should be giving JoPa a pass on that whole sexual abuse thing...since you seem to know more about that than football.

BK stacker,

Were previous versions of O$U slow? No, they weren't.

Michigan may have had a crappy defense the past few years, but few would describe that team as slow.

Arkansas has a very fast team, and tOSU handled them last year.

I DO think that current top SEC teams have great, athletic, fast D linemen. There definitely is a difference there.

However, this "SEC is way faster" thing is a tad overblown. When big ol' slow Iowa has had to compete head to head with SEC teams, they've done all right. But, alas, I forget, you're not really an Iowa of B10 fan at all.

I think the biggest reason BK incessantly carries this banner is because he can't get anything else right in the way of predictions, so he picks something like this that a 3-year-old could get right. Only problem is that he still seems to think that he's actually enlightening people.
