This goes both ways. Urban Meyer is a top 10 coach, all time. I’m not taking about character issues, just the record on the field. Recruiting, motivating, in game adjustments, he’s clearly one of the greats. Hard to replace that. But... he’s got some off field issues that spilled over to the field. Even Urban got stale at times. A good time for him to move on.

We will see. I jumped for joy when Jud Heathcote retired, especially when I saw that his replacement was going to be a cherubic yooper (slang for Michigan's upper peninsula)
Little did I know that Tom Izzo would be a hall of fame coach in his own right and have a better career than Jud.
True but it'd be tough to get a whole lot better than what Meyer has been. ESPN had his record plastered up going back to when he first started and it's pretty nuts really.. He' like 82-8 just at OSU or something like that. Pretty much 1 loss a year avg....

I'd kill a man for a homemade pasty right now. I used to spend summers in the UP when my uncle worked on B-52s at KI Sawyer AFB. Those pasties, oh my gawd.

Agreed. I don't see how Urban's resume could possibly stack up.
Especially considering it would go directly into the garbage.

He's gonna be out of coaching. His health is not good. He wants to live a long life. He has a great wife and family.

Won the Big Ten 3 times (woulda been 4 but for NCAA suspension)
Finished first in their division every year he was there
Finished the season ranked in the top 10 every year he was at O$U
National Championship 2014 (probably also 2012 without the sanctions)
If they win the Rose - 4 bowl wins in 6 bowl eligible years
By the standard you've set Kirk shoulda been gone 15 years ago
