Urban Meyer out

I'd kill a man for a homemade pasty right now. I used to spend summers in the UP when my uncle worked on B-52s at KI Sawyer AFB. Those pasties, oh my gawd.

Speaking of yoopers, it's about time to dust off Rusty Chevrolet for the season.

We make pasty for Halloween every year. We've done it since probably 2004 or 2005.

He said that same thing when he left Florida.
Agreed. If in two years he's back coaching a team close to championship play then we'll all know his health only matters when his existing team is not relevant any more. Good times, bad times some only want the good and easy Street. Keep in mind I'm not saying this is fact but we'll all know in the future if he coaches a blue blood program again.

I’m expecting him to go to the SEC, but USC wouldn’t be a shock either.

A lot will depend on what Mr. Saban decides to do. If Mr. Saban decides to hang it up, gotta think Bama will go full court press on Dabo and if he turns us down, then Kirby. Kirby went to Georgia, so I don't think he would go to Bama. But I could see Meyer ending up in that mix somehow. I'm not sure Clemson would hire him to replace Dabo, but he would presumably be on the short list and if he was able to walk into a stacked roster from Day 1, that might be a possibility, too. I could see him at Bama because he's the only other logical choice if Dabo and Kirby say no. Maybe Jimbo would be in line ahead of Urban, but to be on that short list I think you either need to have a national title or have been really close to one, like Kirby, so outside of those 4 guys, I don't know who else would even be a possibility. I would take Jimbo if necessary. We took Bear from A&M and he turned out okay.

This goes both ways. Urban Meyer is a top 10 coach, all time. I’m not taking about character issues, just the record on the field. Recruiting, motivating, in game adjustments, he’s clearly one of the greats. Hard to replace that. But... he’s got some off field issues that spilled over to the field. Even Urban got stale at times. A good time for him to move on.

When you get trounced by Iowa your deserve to be fired. Think about it. Conservative vanilla offense runs you over. Geeeesh. I did enjoy it tho!!!

He said that same thing when he left Florida.

He has a very serious tumor condition in his brain. It is not getting better.

You could be right, but I'm betting he's done. He may not live long enough to pursue another job.

He is a great coach, coaching at a very corrupt place. Similar to John Wooden. Remember him???

Urban Meyer will go down as one of the all time great coaches from a win/lost standpoint. Unbelievable winning percentage over his career

I happen to agree that he's likely done, but you just never know with that guy. He's only 54 so maybe in a couple years he gets the itch again, USC offers him $7M and he builds something out West

Wouldnt surprise me one bit either way

At least he'll be able to enjoy his pizza from the comfort of his dinner table now, instead of having to eat on the go.

A couple quick observations and just being totally upfront with knowing nothing about brain tumors. (1) Could the severity and frequency of headaches associated with the tumor be enhanced by additional stress he's under gone as a result of the recent cover up. Just odd that he finds himself under a great deal of heat at OSU and Florida and his health takes a turn for the worst.

(2) He's a great coach, but I think adding the "coaching at a very corrupt place" isn't needed. Great coach but I'd venture to say he's every bit as shady/corrupt if not more than the institution he's retiring from. I think addressing OSU as corrupt and leading in with him being "great" makes it look like he's of sound moral character and its the institution that's crooked. The guys a snake.
