Urban Meyer knew about 2015 domestic violence

OK, "sacrificial lambs", i.e,, those folks have to take the blame AND be the one who falls on the sword to protect others. In other words, Nassar takes the heat off Izzo and D'Antonio to some degree.

How does the guy who did the crime take heat off the guy who didn't turn in the crime?

Offering up Nassar and him going through a high-profile trial took the heat off D'Antonio and Izzo. How many witnesses testified against Nassar? How many would be considered "high-profile"?

How many "high-profile" victims have come forward condemning D'Antonio and Izzo?

I am stunned that over 24,000 people have signed a petition to keep UM. smh.

Internet petitions......

LOL! While Urban was doing his best Sg. Shultz impersonation, "I knew nothing, I see nothing!", Smith was doing a simultaneous ESPN interview saying that Meyer pulled him out of practice to discuss the allegations.....oppps, my bad Urban. Afterward, apologizing to Urban for damaging his career. Don't you hate it when liars don't get their stories straight ahead of time?

Has anyone heard one word from Kirk Herbstreit on this? I have not and am shocked with how much of a big wig he is in regards to college football on ESPN and he played for OSU in the 90's. The guy has been MIA.
He discussed the "Rally for Urban", calling it a bad ideal for such a serious topic. Some of the signs at the rally have really gone viral due to bad taste. Kirk knows how bad this looks.

Ok so now Urban is at war with Gene Smith. I kinda thought this might be his best play. A little he said she said. Maybe Gene is ready to fall on his sword for the university.
Ya know JoPa followed proper protocols as well in reporting, but also allowed a pedophile to openly operate on campus. There are "proper protocols" to follow but there is also moral principles that seem to be forgotten by college coaches in powerful positions. I hope Urban doesn't have to fire Gene Smith over this.

Slightly different parallels. Not completely dissimilar, but 100 people out of 100 people would crusade over a pedophile, but I doubt nearly as many will for domestic abuse.

I don't think the university is offering him up. I'm pretty sure the law is the one going after him.

I'm torn on the whole thing...and hate Urban. But (1) if the issue is about his being aware of it and not reporting it then why aren't his former assistants in as much of a hot seat as he is for not reporting it, yet we've yet to hear anything as far as they go. (2) IF he did report it appropriately then it shouldn't be his job in jeopardy. (3) who in their right mind would put 3 OSU trustees on the committee to investigate this? Seems unbiased to me (heavy sarcasm).

I should add that the only thing I know is Meyer is still the snake he was when they hired him and Smith is a POS.

I'm sure it was planned weeks and weeks if not months ago...
Just listened to Jon and Steves podcast on it. It's hard to see how Meyer survives this based on all they discussed...

So how does this change our view of the principles? For me, it goes like this:

Zach Smith: Wow, a really messed up guy with very poor decision-making. Many of the victim-blamers (his mother and mother-in-law taking the lead for this group) have tried to portray him as a sympathetic figure who was being wronged by a scornful, crazy woman. This new information makes it pretty hard to see him that way.

Urban Meyer: Doesn't seem like this really affects him. He probably couldn't have known (maybe rumors about the oral sex with a staff member and rampant dick pics?), and none of this is violation stuff. If he had heard even rumors, it does bring his judgement further into question for keeping Smith around as long as he did, but he is already being accused of keeping a known wife-abuser on staff, so you really can't make that much worse.

Courtney Smith: This info had to come from her, right? It seems like her goal is utter and complete humiliation of Zach Smith, and he has provided her with as much ammo as anyone could hope for.

Brett McMurphy: Ethical to report this latest wave of info? Does not seem relevant to violations, seems to be intended only to humiliate and sensationalize. I would love to hear @RobHowe and @JonDMiller comment (or anyone else involved in media/journalism) comment on this.
