Updated Spring Roster

Morris really needs to get bigger. Hopefully he can get another 10lbs on his frame by August if he's going to play the middle spot.

Spears has really beefed up. I thought he looked pretty big at the beginning of last year. He's going to be a monster on the DL.

Spears was a LB. Has he been w/ the DLine for a while?

No changes in weight for Darian Cooper?

they switched spears to de early last yr. i almost think it happened right when he got here. i feel like he could very well end up starting at de because he is probably the best athlete of all the de and will most likely be quicker and with the lack of size we have at dl we need quickness to make up for it.

I could sit about middle of the pack for weight gain while my wife was pregnant... Only difference theirs was muscle mine is Dunlap.

I must be the only person that doesn't take listed roster height and weight at face value.

Looks like Rudock and Canzeri are getting fat! :)

Seriously, though, Canzeri doesn't need to be 200...but 190 would be better than 180, durability-wise. Not sure if he can retain his quickness and speed, that is really an "individual" thing.

I though Jason White was a 5th-year last year (?) thus, no reason for him to be on roster...

i dont take the actual weight at much value either but if they are honest about the weight gain i do take that with a little value to see what guys have done the work to take the pounding at their spot.

an example is spears gaining about 30 lbs. if he did this i really believe he can handle the de position this yr and will put on more to be even tougher in the next few yrs.

Even in known situations where you have actual height and weight published, I think height and weight numbers are largely over-valued. I've seen too many guys over the years play undersized by most standards just absolutely dominate. The opposite is true as well. Ideal builds on paper that were over-hyped because of measurables.

So yes, at best, it's a small gauge to see that guys are working out in the off season and getting bigger which really we know without looking at published, often deliberately falsified numbers.

But by and large, it's nothing to get too caught up in.
