Updated: #48 Ranked Class and #12 in B1G per ESPN

Not really. I'd rather have our class any day. Look at Rutgers and Minnesota. Both have larger classes than us, so their ranking is better for it, but their average rating per player is significantly lower. Iowa's average rating is right there with Wisky, which is where we need to be.

Even if it was a better recruiting service you were quoting, rankings are flawed because they give too much credit for quantity. Iowa didn't need a huge class this year, they needed a high quality class, and, especially with the developments of the last month getting Petras, Waggoner, and Dallas C, Iowa has accomplished what it needed to.
Along with Nixon.... That kid is going to play a lot day 1. Probably won't start with Lattimore and Nelson but he will play and getting him to not go to Bama or anywhere else once they'd offered and he had a plethora of options was a really big deal. I really like that kid.

This class solidified the DLine. I mean big time that position may be the biggest strength for the foreseeable future. It also helped at DB. Maybe not day 1 but they got 2 4 star safeties and a couple corners I like. The kid from Erie PA keeps getting compared to Jovon Johnson. If he's half of that what a steal he'll be.
The QB we signed I wasn't as crazy about till I learned more about him. I'm surprised he flew under the radar. Put up video game numbers at a high level HS that Goff also went to. By video game #s I mean 50 Tds 2 picks in one year. That's what 4 or 5 Tds a game at the least he was throwing. I dunno how many games he played but geesh it hardly matters. Big strong kid physically ready to go he doesn't have to find the weight room for 3 yrs just to be able to take a hit. But yet he will sit for at least 2 yrs and compete with Mansell after that so who knows. If he doesn't beat Mansell out that means Mansell is pretty damn good too. So QB is in great shape
RB I like the Geil kid but RBs are a crapshoot so we'll see and the athletes they got that'll end up at receiver with who knows I'm not sticking my neck out saying any or all will be studs there. But if just one does.... It'd sure help a lot.
I'm tickled with the class overall and who knows maybe they can pull a rabbit or two more in Feb.

We need to recruit a QB who is offensively creative and talented, and can change plays that override Kirk and Son of Kirk on the field...

Plus, we have mid-major WR options...that can't get open...

Don't think he'd be playing long over riding the entire coaching staff.

All I know is this class has 4 4 star kids and Nixon a DT of all positions who Bama offered reportedly at the later part of the season. That's better on paper than most seasons, its probable Iowa does just fine with this class.
