Terrible news.

Well if the kid has half of his fathers conviction and intensity he will kick this thing no problem.

Get well young man.

Hopefully Patrick's treatment will be a success and he will be able to overcome this difficulty. Thoughts and prayers for Patrick and the family.

He is in great hands at UofI Hospitals!! Thank goodness we have those facilities, doctors and nurses available here in Iowa.

thyroid cancer - unless it has spread, he will beat this.

As a father not have gone through what Fran has and pray for the best for his son I now no what has happened to this team. It affected the whole team, this team was tight

Thoughts and prayers continue to be with Pat and the McCaffery family. Let's hope the U of I Hospital has caught this early enough.

Really sorry to hear that. There is lot of love in that family and they have the best doctors and facilities. Patrick is young and the young heal well. That is devastating news for the McCaffery Family.....

there will be a lot of prayers for Patrick.....

Really awful news but we all hope it is a type of cancer that can be treated and cured.

Very treatable and curable. Sort of unusual that it was found in one so young though. Keeping them all in my thoughts. Times of a great illness in a family are hard, but I expect they'll come through this very well.
