University Grass Lots for Saturday

Heard that there was an Facebook update talking about University owned lots being closed for parking on Saturday. Has anyone heard this? We park at 609 Melrose, which they laid down plastic material to allow vehicles to get traction. Sounds like our lot is open, but other lots may not be so lucky.
 
I called the administration office today because I was wondering the same thing. The lady on the phone said a decision will be made by tomorrow so that it can be announced.

She said that I am welcome to call back tomorrow.
 
I doubt there will be any grass parking, its been raining all day.....looks outside......yup...still raining.
 
Its already been announced that ALL University grass lots will be CLOSED for the game. There is enough parking around to not worry too much but it hurts the tailgating that is for sure......
 
I would guess that the golf course driving range was the first lot to be closed due to them not wanting to tear up the grass.

If they are saying ALL grass lots, I better check again on our lot that they told us would still be open. Thanks for the info.

gonna be a sloppy day of tailgating hope the rain holds off like they say! what would you guys say has been the funnest place to tailgate at if your a avid stroller up and down melrose
 
Maybe they should have installed the same turf used in the staduim in the grass lots too.


Sure it might have caused an uptick in turf toe, but at least you'd be able to park.

haha lol...I think with the upcoming state budget cuts that could get pushed through...the cba on replacing all natural grass on State Property might be pretty good...

I park at 609 as well and Uof I Parking Office said this would be open Sat.

Finkbine will not be open, but this was at 10:30 this morning so maybe something changed?
 
Imported_Bookie--we contacted our people today. They told us the same thing. 609 will be open. Thank goodness for the plastic tracking that they laid down before the season.
