UNI support

What the hell. You guys jump on me when I am too subtle, and you jump on me when I am too deliberate.

I am starting to think that the best course of action for me will be to stop acting like I am better than all of you.

That is by far the best part of your schtick. Don't even think about losing that. What would you have left?

Please don't do that. My life has little enough meaning without the entertainment you provide, as evidenced by my posting on a message board.

I have a lot of good friends that went to UNI, they are Hawk fans as well...I really think this is a scenario that a previous poster said well. That most of us were born and raised hawk fans and then some became casual UNI fans after attending college there. I've actually followed their bball team a bit more over the past few years. But yes, I'd be considered a bandwagon fan as well. ;)

Personally, I'm starting to feel the same way about UNI that I felt about Drake 2 years ago. Enough all ready. I get they're big story, but the media here is going to beat it into the ground.

The big difference is UNI has actually won some games that matter

Weird, you can't get away from the talk? Is it pumped into every room that you occupy?

I can get away from it, but there are only so many angles that the media can use to cover the story, and they're going to pound every one of them to death. They'll lead the sportscast every night, and be on the front of the sports page.

So if you read the paper, or watch the news, or listen to sports radio in this town, you're not going to hear about anything else.

Wait, you mean exactly like what happens when Iowa Football or Iowa Basketball is doing well? I'm as die-hard Black and Gold as they come, but I'm more than happy to let UNI get some of that spotlight that we've hogged for the last 30+ years.

That would definitely be acting... ;-)

Sorry man. Can't help swinging at those hanging curveballs.

UNI fans are basically Iowa fans with an inferior education. I wouldn't put too much stock in what they have to say.

Now that's funny....Remember that UNI currently boasts three programs, education, accounting and marketing as 3 top 5 programs in the nation. When I left UNI accounting was one of the top 2 programs in the nation.

I also went to Iowa which has strengths as well. I assume you made this comment to excite some....so I'll respond. Other then that, supporting sports has nothing to do with where you get your education. I am a UNI grad with Hawkeye blood but am on the fence when it comes to when the two play. Mostly always cheer for the Hawks but like this year in bball, I hoped UNI would win as it would be better for them then the Hawks.
