Is anybody getting backlash from true Panther fans about being excited the Panthers? I've gotten a little, but the reason I get excited is because of the underdog role compounded with the fact the team is from Iowa. Anybody else?
 
you CAN be a fan of BOTH Iowa and UNI.....I just don't see what the big deal is...having said that....I NEVER cheer for ISU -moo-u...........
 
There are REAL Panther fans?

Hell, i went to UNI and didnt even know real Panther fans existed. I thought all UNI grads were big hawk fans like me
 
If a Panther fan tried to tell me who I should and should not root for I'd tell them to **** up a rope.
 
My brother-in-law is a true Panther fan. He bleeds purple and gold. There aren't many of them, but they exist.
 
UNI fans are basically Iowa fans with an inferior education. I wouldn't put too much stock in what they have to say.
 
Sadly the majority of UNI followers are only followers when their team is successful. It's not the case with ALL, but from what I've experienced....suddenly everyone has "always" been a UNI fan.

Let's just remember what "fan" is short for.........fanatic. Few can say they are FANS of Panther basketball.

I agree with this. I fall into this category. The main reason is that people who go to UNI dont grow up as UNI fans. Most of them grew up Iowa fans and become casual UNI fans because of going to school there

The main reason for this is that no one watched UNI on tv growing up (because they werent on tv) so their allegiance is elsewhere. Some convert into hardcore Panther fans but that is a lot of work.

Ghost, I love you. I really do. But if you're going to play the "I'm smarter than you" card, proper spelling and punctuation are a must. It isn't "youre" heads. It is "your" heads. Oh, and if you're going to say "you're," you must use an apostrophe.

What the hell. You guys jump on me when I am too subtle, and you jump on me when I am too deliberate.

I am starting to think that the best course of action for me will be to stop acting like I am better than all of you.
