I wonder if some of these large universities thought about working with Zoom or other platforms to work out some solution of a proprietary server and address, some type of mirror site, virtual servers etc. I am not an expert in these areas but there would seem to be ways to isolate a universities Zoom or Google Meets etc web server.
I’m glad it’s going well for you and I’m also glad you get to be there to help.It is apparent that a couple of the apps blended into the system use pre-made activities for reading, math and other subjects as well as pdfs and files their teachers create.
And it is a good time and way to get parents more involved with their kid's learning thru online journal messages with teachers, activity tabs, notifications, etc.
The regional tailoring is something that we needed from day one. One of the biggest reasons we could not though is because lack of accurate data/testing early on. Implementing something like that now is better than never.I’m glad it’s going well for you and I’m also glad you get to be there to help.
My son is stating his 3rd full week in person today (8th grade), he says students are following orders for the most part. Temp checks walking in the building, one-directional travel in the halls, and hand washing when walking in/out of classrooms. His art and health teachers are holding class outside when at all possible with weather. PE is always outside and not held during bad weather. As far as his circle of friends, they are all being super compliant with what the school is asking because they know that if they have to pause or go to hybrid learning, football stops as well. It's a carrot in front of them and motivation to play by the rules. Kids not involved in extra curriculars hopefully feel some motivation as well. We are fortunate enough to live in a county with only 11 active cases in over 600 sq miles, and none currently in our town. Our first football game is tonight and will have a video feed, so hopefully that cuts down on the crowd a little. I'm going to watch via that because I have a car to detail tonight.
This will be a huge test of the system and hopefully it demonstrates to people that the response has to be tailored to the regional setting and case count. There are areas where a shutdown is the only option, and those where relatively normal operations can happen. One size definitely does not fit all.

Then I would hope when some of these rugged individualists who insist on no mask or social distancing get sick, they stay out of the healthcare system. If they don't care for their health or the welfare of others around them I shed no tears on their demise.IL has done regional tailoring. Some of the worst areas had really low rates. The populations in the south areas are rural non minority. These areas are strongly conservative ..
In other words screw social distancing.
Champaign remains low even with students coming back. Social distancing has been big in Champaign. Give the students a couple weeks though.
Examples?IL has done regional tailoring. Some of the worst areas had really low rates.
Examples?
Mattoon is remote learning only. How is their school having problems when no one is there?Effingham and Coles County for example. Mattoon in Coles is having issues. Nearby Charleston IEU is in Coles County.
Champaign County is surprisingly low and masks are highly visible. Bars are sensitive as there is a running battle between the city and Unofficial St Pats Day. Frats were on notice and the U has shut down frats before.

This whole thread has been about schools, whether it be K-12 or college.Never said school. COUNTY
