Pretty clear Alfords past was never vetted during the selection process. To see the AD scramble and then make false statements about conversations with Alford is crazy.
His job is probably in serious jeopardy.
Too bad Alford was still learning the fundamentals of coaching when he came to Iowa.
UCLA should also say: "Thanks Hawkeyes!"
I agree completly Homer. The guy just wasnt ready for a Big Ten program. He is turning out to be a pretty decent coach, if he can ever put the PP thing behind him. His personality also didnt help him at Iowa. I think he expected to be treated like Bob Knight was treated at Ind. If he had won 3 national titles we might have.
Alf doesn't have Craig Neal around to run timeouts and other coaching stuff anymore. Stevie's tenure is going to be short.
