This kid is just scratching the surface offensively.

Last night he finished with 14 points on 3-11 FGs (8-11 FTs). All three of his made FGs were dunks. If he makes even half of his other shots which were all layups he goes for over 20.

The impressive thing for me is the way he was able to drive Thomas Bryant, who is one of the better bigs in the league, underneath the basket using his strength. He did the same to Morgan against Illinois. As he keeps getting stronger and more confident I think he will start finishing those shots. He's got a nice left hand too.

His shooting stroke is nice, and I think next year he will have a consistent mid range jump shot as another weapon in his game.

He still has a long way to go on defense, but I think he can improve mightily there. To me it looks like he's just overthinking everything on that end and just needs to play.

The kid is going to be special.

You can see Tyler has worked on his FTs. He hit some big ones down the stretch in regulation.

He's close - excited to keep seeing him develop - his stair down of Bryant - I love that this team has some attitude.

If he gets a reasonable-10-15 ft jumper, and can improve positional defense and awareness, he is going to be a force. He gets in the air so damnn quick on those dunks.

I don't usually say this about basketball players, but if he can put on a little(not a lot) of size and get stronger, he could be crazy hard to defend. I don't want him bulking up and losing quickness but you have to figure the kid might not even be done growing yet at 18-19.

I don't know if it will all come together but if 3-4 of these guys make a jump in physicality and bball IQ....it'll be fun to watch.

Even this year, with so many dissappointing losses, almost every game is fun to watch.

interesting observation 3 for 11 all dunks not great shooting and I thought Bryant really frustrated him At one point he was 0 for 6 and having a tough time getting it to the rim Clearly he has talent but he needs to develop and use a mid range jump shot or he is going to have some rough shooting nights when he comes up against quality big men. Same for Pemsl

I can't help but really like Pemsl too. He doesn't have great natural gifts but his moves around the basket are fun to watch and he puts crazy english on the ball. He's another one that if he can get a decent jump shot going, like Kriener, he can really space the floor. His inside/out post game was really good at times last night.

one of the best Staredowns I have seen in awhile. Love the intensity in his eyes. He get mugged on the last shot in regulation and should have been shooting free throws to win in regulation.

When he gets the ball, he's like Besabe in the sense that he has no intentions of passing.

He's shown the ability to make some pretty good passes in the pick and roll, especially when him and Pemsl were paired together. I agree though when he catches it on the block it rarely ends with a pass.

As he plays more he will learn that passing and reposting is a great way to get position, and also kicking out for a 3 point shot can be a great option from the post.

Yes, caught the staredown realtime during game, was awesome. Loved his play this game, first half he couldn't hit a damned thing, but in then end needed his work to win this one. Looking forward to seeing him play in the coming years. As was said, have not seen anyone receive the ball and toss it down as fast as this guy can, ever. That speed is hard to defend against.

One of the encouraging things for me last night was Cook getting a rebound in OT that wasn't right to him. There is no reason why Tyler can't be a decent rebounder. He needs to bring the emotion he dunks with to his rebounding.

If he learns to kick it back out, it will make his scoring opportunities inside even better, too. Right now, he's a bit of a black hole, he catches the ball, dribbles, dribbles - everyone else is standing around watching - he turns and shoots. Not that it never works now, but he will much more effective as well as the whole offense more dynamic if he can pass out of the block.

It was frustrating seeing him miss those first six, either too soft off the glass or too hard. Course, Bryant had something to do with that.

We saw him shoot alright in the PTL so the potential's there. Of course, there's no D played there either I realize.

OK, I get it, but what goes around comes around, so don't be all pizzed off if they meet again and Bryant gives it right back. Live by the smack, die by the smack. I prefer the old Tom Landry line (paraphrased) about handing the ball to the ref after you score a touchdown - Act like it's no big deal, you've been there before.

I agree. He's a really good interior passer and he never kicks it out for a 3. Kinda a weird combo.

The stat that stuck out to me was his 6 boards. I think that might be his high this year.
