Francis is awesome - Fran's stability at assistant coach - the family atmosphere and cohesion type of program he runs all stems from keeping that core together and can't be undersold in the turn around this program has achieved. I wouldn't do much to disrupt that at this point, recruiting is on a full upswing.

I know you are limited in your # of actual "coaches", but you can probably make up as many "administrative assistant" positions are you want, can't you? Is that what is typically done when a school hires a recruit's parent or HS coach?

I am not advocating for this approach, I have just always been curious about exactly how other schools pull this off.

I am not advocating for this approach, I have just always been curious about exactly how other schools pull this off.

There are limits on administrative assistants, too. Most times if a school wants a prospect bad enough they usually hire the HS coach as a full-time assistant.

Why?

What does Francis bring to the table in terms of recruiting? His East Coast ties haven't really panned out. Dillard brought in Cook and seems to be the best recruiter on the staff and I think Speraw is the top guy overall since he was the one who acted as the head coach when Fran was suspended. When you have the opportunity to bring in studs by adding a new coach I think it makes sense.
