TX WR Beau Corrales Tells HN Why Iowa Was Place for Him

Pencil him in as a Jacob Hillyer type. Bulk up and work on your blocking and that'll get him on the field as fast as anything.

I like this pick up, because they have no TE's in this class (maybe Coons) but if they don't get Martin, they get a WR that will help them...he can go either way, and it sounds like he's 'down' with that............

Im really starting to like this class. Eno was probably the best recruiter for this class. Boy, Iowa needed last year!!

I do too. This team/style of offense needs players like that. Hillyers worth much like the full backs wasn't about stats so much at all. If this kid can make a play or two more than great all the better. But opening up running lanes is just as important when you run the ball as much as we do.

I've read some say they can throw up jump balls to him in red zone. Has anyone noticed that Iowa doesn't really throw jump balls up into the end zone for their WRs. Seems like the last time I remember seeing that was when Chandler was young they did. But as a style of play they sure don't seem to want to do that. I don't remember Hillyer ever getting any opportunities like that. It's just not something Davis seems to use. Well now that I say that Boyle in the spring game's TD was on a play kinda like that. Now I don't know if that's a personel thing or style thing so much as to why they seldom try it. I just wouldn't automatically assume that's something they'll start utilizing with Beau.

Vandeberg (sp?) had a pretty good rapport with McNutt on the fade. That is the last time I remember seeing it frequently and successfully.

Sounds like Iowa should get a game in Texas scheduled in 3-4 years so all these Texans can play close to home. Of course Iowa could just assume they will all be playing in the Cotton Bowl after the 2018 season.

Agreed, I thought I remember quite a few jump balls thrown McNutt's way.

Remember when Stanzi autibled into it 2 plays in a row? That was pretty funny.

I like his strength in getting yards after catch and through contact. I almost think it would be a waste to convert him to tight end. Save that spot for somebody with the height to match.
