Two very average teams

ISU might win 3 games, Iowa might win 7. ISU has no offensive line, no running game and no defense. If they got torched by Matt Vandeberg what are the big 12 WRs going to do to them? Their entire offense is getting the ball to Lazard and Bundrage coupled with Sam Richardson scambling on broken plays.

Iowa's D takes a huge hit if Ott is out for any length of time. Hope Daniels can play next week. Canzeri is not a 30 carry back. If Ferentz tries to make him one because Daniels is out he won't last half the season. Iowa should never have one back getting 30 carries per game honestly, didn't work out too well when they tried that in the past. I hope we'll see some more designed QB runs in the offense after this week, it'd be a waste to not use Beathard's wheels.

It hit me, neeither is a bad team but neither are especially strong 9 win caliber teams. ISU is better than usual, but Iowa is meh

Iowa St's defense looked more athletic than usual and their WRs could cause issues for some teams but their OL is awful. Looking at their schedule there aren't many games they'll be the favorites. Toledo on the road will be tough. They'll probably beat Kansas at home and have a fighting chance against Texas Tech and Texas but this looks to be a another double digit loss season for ISU.

I still think Iowa State probably has more individual talent than Iowa does. They honestly should have dominated this game, but they totally Iowa Stated it in the second half. That's just a program that can't have success. Rhoads will probably be fired in November, and they'll start over again. But if they could get rid of that Pigpen cloud that follows them around, they could have something.

Please expound. Where was the individual talent superiority? There are 22 positions you need to address...giving you a pass on ST

They Iowa Stated it when Iowa held them to 66 yards in the second half, or were they just flopping?

please be specific on your examples. the score in the 2nd half could have been 28-0, and obviously iowa left points off the board in the 1st half.

look at the stats of the game - not sure isu dominated any phase of the game, let alone 'probably should have dominated the game'.

beat in the trenches, beat on yardage, beat on the scoreboard.

They have more individual talent at one position, one. WR. They lost by 14, and without a fumble at the goalline and fakefieldgoalgate, very easily could have been 21+.

In no world should they have dominated. Could they have won? Sure, if Iowa played poorly, it's happened a few times lately . They've beat Iowa by more than 10 points Twice since 1977. They've "had something" sorta, about 4 years out of the last 2 decades(and then fired that coach). That "something" by the way, is 7 wins.

C'mon now.

Guys, ISU sucks. Not bashing Iowa cuz ISU always finds a way to play thier best against Iowa so a close game doesnt worry me. Woulda won 42-0 had we played like the second half the whole time.

Brett Meyer and Todd Blythes ISU and same with Arnods team were 15x better so dont say theyre the best since Senica Wallaces team.

Wow, what does this team have to do to get some love? Two games of plus 30 pts. against two respectable teams, strong defensively play, an exciting offense. To listen to some posters and radio callers I've heard you'd think we were 0-2 and getting shut out. People need to Forget about last year and get behind this team. We might not see a QB like CJ again for a long time. We need to enjoy the ride.

Im pretty sure you don't know how to assess individual talent if this is your opinion. ISU's WR are good. Outside of that, they dont have a position group on the field better than Iowa. I would love to hear what other position group for ISU is better than Iowa.

While you may have joined in October 2012, you clearly haven't been following this board with any regularity. There are a lot of experts on this board.

Most national pundits said that Iowa State would be a better team, this year, even if their record doesn't show it.
Kansas looks like a sure win. Toledo is now a maybe. Texas may be a win. That's 4.
Then, it would be K-State and Oklahoma State.

This Iowa State team is one of the better ones since Danny Mac was huffing and puffing on the sidelines.
