Tucker is lighting up the Gophers right now

Minnesota is playing Winona State in an exhibition. Tucker has 20 pt, WSU, DII, is just down 8 pts with 3 min to go.

Clayton Vette also getting PT for Winona. Former Mr BB from the Waverly Area.
A lot of MN prep players that I have seen are on the Winona team including Tucks old HS teammate CJ Erickson.

No offense to whom you like or don't like as a player, but IMO Tucker represents many things that were wrong with the Lickliter era. The sooner I put him behind me, the sooner I can get to enjoying this season. 111 pts!!! Lickliter would have troubles getting that in a 3 game stretch during B10 season.

I agree, however I would bet if Fran was coaching last season Tucker would still be on the team. I don't plan on troubling Hawkeye fans much with former players, but I did find it intriguing he was able to put some points up on Minnesota and helped Winona almost beat them.

How long does Royce stay in scholl before he breaks one of the mayor's rules? And I am talking about the real Mayor of Ames not the basketball coach. LOL

I think I agree, if your saying Tucker would have had a lot more fun with the style of play he would have been less likely to get into more trouble. But if your saying Fran wouldn't have booted him then I disagree. Fran doesn't seem like the type that is going to look the other way when dealing with things like the Tucker situation.

Can't say Tucker didn't have talent. I hope he is able to get his act together so he can reach his potential on the court.

Tucker is also one of the slowest guards to play in the Big Ten. He is at the level that he belongs at now. Stormin your love for him is beyond odd.

I watched a kid from UW-LaCrosse- Joe Mane?...6'2'' guard from the LaCrosse area, put up like 27 on Wisconsin last nite. He played at UIC for a year, then transferred home to LaCrosse to play Div II.

Someone has to take the shots on teams like this,vs Big Ten teams. Mane and Tucker fill the bill, but I agree that Tucker was too slow to play guard in the Big Ten. Could not stay in front of his man, only marginally quicker than Bawinkel.

These exhibitions are featuring a lot of Div II teams pushing a lot of big name schools. Xavier lost to Bellarmine University. Bradley lost to Quincy college. Tennessee lost to Indianpolis College. DePaul lost to Lewis College.

I have Minny at #5 in the Big Ten behind OSU,MSU,PU,and Ill....and definitely a tourny team. How did Mbakwe look? With Iverson,Sampson,Mbakwe,Joseph,Nolen and Hoffbarber(sp), I cannot see how Tubby cannot have them in the top half.

To be honest... I'm not sure I agree with this. He did the things he did because there was no self-discipline. Does that change because of a new coach? Maybe, maybe not... no way to tell... Maybe there's a reason Tubby ignored his talent and decided to not recruit him? How come the rest of the team didn't follow his type of actions due to being discontented? Just saying.

Sorry, I get tired of people making excuses for their actions... looking for other people to blame is a cop-out and does nothing but make them look silly.

Sounds like Tucker had a lot to celebrate after the game. I wonder how he felt the next morning?

I'm glad tucker is doing well I hope he keeps it up and wish him the best.
I strongly disagree with the poster that suggested that #### was too slow to play in the big 10.
While I agree that he is not the quickest guard He is certainly athletic and skilled enough to play at this level.
I'm not sure if I agree or not with you stormin that anthony would still be here if fran were the coach last year. It is certainly a possibility that fran would have used him differently and that tucker would have stayed out of trouble as a result but that is not a given by any means.
It seems to me that tucker has some demons that need to be resolved before he finds long term success anywhere.
Admittedly I don't know the kid and I maybe speaking out of line with that it's just my observations.

Sorry for the caps issues of my posts. Recently had a little surgery and am using my droid voice app to post. It's really cool but not perfect.

Tucker was my favorite player in that class. The guys shot is as smooth as glass. I can tell you from experience that work ethic can be affected by respect for your coach. I've had coaches that I loved which in turn made me want to work harder to gain their respect and coaches I hated who I could have cared less what I did for them. I wish Tucker was still with the team, he would be a valuable asset.
