Trump supporters, how do you square this?

You don't think it matters when someone speaking with the power of your government behind him says "$50 million for condoms to Hamas" when the truth is "$83.5 million to prevent and treat HIV and TB in Mozambique"?

This article says 83.5 mil was sent to Mozambique for reproductive health projects. But it makes it sound like they don't know for sure that that was what Musk was referring to. Since Musk says "we stopped it from going out" and that article says that money was already spent, I'm not sure that's the same thing. But it also says "reproductive health projects" so if it was what Musk was talking about, and he already knows we she'll out condoms all over the world, and it is a Gaza there, and he admits later he was wrong on the Gaza part, I see the confusion. Definitely not the best look to ever say something that turns out wrong. But hardly a huge deal.

I guess we will just need to disagree on that.

Elon's twenty something tech bros fired:

1. Park Rangers
2. VA suicide hotline crisis workers (which pisses me off)
3. People overseeing nuclear safety (and weapon stockpiles)
4. Medical researchers

If you combine these indiscriminate firings (duh) with the reduction in taxes for the top bracket, you won't have much, if any, decreases in the federal deficit.

According to: https://usafacts.org/government-spending/

We have $4.9T in revenue currently (not sure how taking in less from the rich will improve our situation)
We have $6.8T in spending currently
Of note, we pay $1.3T on Defense.

Talk amongst yourselves, and see if you can get the math to line up for your deficit reductions.

Nibbling at safety and social service jobs that you politically dislike/mistrust won't get you to a balanced budget or even a decrease in the deficit.

This is a government takeover. And it's just begun. More planes will fall from sky, more shit will hit the fan. It's not getting better, it will get worse.

Let's not forget the FAA, we have had more major airplane crashes in the last 2/3 weeks than we have had
in years

From the banned AP, banned from the White House Press Media meetings because they still call the Gulf of America the Gulf of Mexico

The impacted workers include personnel hired for FAA radar, landing and navigational aid maintenance, one air traffic controller told The Associated Press. The air traffic controller was not authorized to talk to the media and spoke on condition of anonymity.

In a message posted to X late Monday, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said fewer than 400 FAA employees were fired and “Zero air traffic controllers and critical safety personnel were let go.”
The Professional Aviation Safety Specialists union told Reuters that the roughly 300 workers it represents who had been fired included maintenance mechanics, aeronautical information specialists, aviation safety assistants and management and program assistants.

"These are positions that are vital to supporting public safety," a spokesperson said.

Similarly, an air traffic controller told The Associated Press that those fired included people hired for FAA radar, landing and navigational aid maintenance.

Have you even thrown around the ides that maybe they have way too many people hired into these positions to begin with. If you can handle the same responsibilities with 50 people buy you have 200 employed, that 150 extra people is all wasted taxpayer money. I'm not saying that's for sure happening (even tho it almost certainly is). I'm just wondering how you aren't even factoring in something so obvious.

I can see how someone can be nervous of long term consequences of firing people in safety positions. It's a valid concern. But the timing is way too soon here for these airline crashes having anything to do with new policy. If we fired every bridge inspector today, eventually bridging will start collapsing. But they aren't going to start collapsing the next day.

Unless you're gargling Trump's balls, you can see that regular folk are going to lose. Trump and Elon don't care about you. They care about grabbing power, avoiding legal scrutiny, and owning everything they can.
Congrats, you fools.
