Was he one of the ones that was gonna be fired? I don't put much into the "resigning" ahead of a firing and trying to make Trump look bad. I mean it is the better plan. Pay a bunch more money and try Adams or save our money hold it over him, because the charges can be revisited they are not dead, and you have some more control in NY. 59 million FEMA just this month tried to go to non-citizens including 19 million of that for hotels. FEMA money needs to go to NC and such. Smart plan to save some $$$ and get some say in NY which is in need of it. Next getting rid of congestion pricing. Imagine a cost just to drive into a part of a city you are already in just because an agency, the MTA, is so corrupt and mismanages billions so they just hit the people up for more $$$.

Except what you describe is illegal. One cannot hold the enticement of dropping charges in front of an elected official in order to achieve a certain policy decision from that individual. It is that sort of "ends justifies the means" thinking that allows corruption to flourish. Our system of government has constraints against absolute power and authority for the express purpose of preventing corruption. Trump does not have the authority to just do away with all of that because he won an election 49.8% to 48.3%.

Also, don't buy the Elon Musk lie about money to NY. That money was appropriated by Congress, and spent through the Dept of Homeland Security (although DHS administers FEMA, none of that money was earmarked for FEMA disaster relief). It was specifically earmarked for non-federal entities that assist with the Shelters and Services Program. Trump might disagree with how that money has been appropriated, but he does not get to impound appropriated funds, as detailed in the constitution and upheld by the SCOTUS (1975 Train v. NYC).

No I don’t want people to lose jobs but I don’t want to pay people to do a job that’s not necessary. I am tired of the rampant inflation but like PC said we’re just beginning and JB has contributed to that way more than DJT. I will also say I’m not sure I like the decisions DJT is making as far as tariffs and such go but hopefully he knows what he’s doing. Tell me what you think DJT is doing to embrace enemies and dictators while alienating allies. I’m guessing you think Russia is an enemy. Why should we consider Russia as an enemy? Do you think it’s a good idea to continue giving away billions of dollars in weapons to a country that can’t win a war? How many people have to die before we say enough? I know you don’t believe it but you should believe DJT when he says that the war never would’ve started if he had been president and you’re also going to say that he gave Ukraine to Putin when the war ends. You won’t give him any credit but I will be happy that it’s over and soldiers are no longer dying and an added benefit is we will no longer be wasting billions of dollars on Ukraine.
