Trump supporters, how do you square this?

Misinformation. I am wondering if many of your views and opinions are tainted by false information that your receive on an ongoing basis? You're welcome to check other places, any legitimate source provides this same answer.

Why even bother? Honest question.

It's a waste of time, the only one you're trying to prove he's wrong to is him, and he ain't changing his mind.

The more you try to bring information the more he's going to switch gears and discombobulate. If I didn't know better I'd say he was trolling, but he's not. You're essentially standing out in your yard screaming at a tree at the top of your lungs and expecting the tree to see your point.

There are more worthwhile things to frustrate yourself with.

Yes, I've said this to myself many times. It is pissing in the wind. And PC is no different from any that I've spoken with in the Maga world. It is all the same. Most don't want to look at facts/data to resolve something, they don't want truth. I just hate it as an American. Half the country is selling their souls and the future of this country to a moral compass free charltan. It is hard to let this pass. I know the moral compass of this country matters in every aspect of our lives. And the amazing thing to me is that it is so easy to see. I know no one wants to hear comparisons to Germany in the 30's but I now get it. I now understand how it got out of hand until it was too late.

Let's hope I listen to you and myself and stop wasting my time in this thread.

If they couldn't have access to my ssn, then how could they find out they're cutting checks to people who are 150 years old and to multiple people on one ssn? And the government already has access to my number anyway. I supply it when I submit my taxes.
I'm not sure if you know this, but all government employees have a certain level of security access. While the government has this data, the 25 year old tech bros who your Fuhrer brought in were not sanctioned, approved, or vetted by anyone with the authority to do that.

Some tech bro who is 25 may have your info. He doesn't exactly work for the government. But you don't care. Give away all your freedoms because your team "won".

If some congress people wanted to get into the USAID building or the Dept of Education building to provide oversight, why would they be denied entrance????????

I think you're right. I'm doing the same thing. I realize it's pointless to argue with someone who has no ability (or maybe desire) to think critically, but I think I just need to see it a few times before I completely give up.

I'm not sure why I yell at trees, yet here I am.

HN is kind of like America. It's seen better days :)

I’m going to start a new thread in OT tonight. Not sure what about, but something that isn’t this. I like discussion, and I even like discussion with people I don’t agree with. But this…this ain’t it.

This is priceless

Musk is on TV with tRUMP sitting at the White House Desk

Musk is xplaining His/Musk's policies

Rather a Puppet Show

Steven Miller and Musk's little boy are watching

The article you posted explains it perfectly. They got shut down for forgiving student loans so he put out a different plan that was a slightly different way to pay back student loans. Even at the end of the article when saying whether it's true of false it says "needs context". If you were on the other side you would give two shits about the minor change.

No ability? My God you hard core liberals in this thread haven't given a single inch to anyone the entire time. Do you see other guys who just lean left like kicker and CP87 who can have back and forths and at least give an inch? Have you not noticed me give an inch? Guys like you are just non stop name callers and won't hear a single thing that isn't 100% anti Trump. There is only one guy here I'll name call and it has nothing to do with his political opinion. And I'm about to do that now.

Fry it doesn't matter which thread you start or go into. You're going to be a douche no matter where you go. You're the king of "only my opinion matters". Even if our opinions are only slightly off from one another you will still make an ass of yourself finding some random way to argue a point that isn't even relevant.

At least I just give my opinion here instead of attacking other people (excluding you of course). You attack everyone for their opinions even in the sports forums. It's like you have a severe case of little man syndrome.

Lol. If I had “little man syndrome” I would’ve deleted your little hobby thread that you have going here or something. I don’t need to feel important because I’m not, and a side effect of that is I don’t feel a need to try and make you think I am. I simply could not care less about your political beliefs or your opinion of me. If you want to get mad that’s on you.

Little man syndrome is the guy who just keeps talking shit to try to sound tough. People who suffer from that don't try to avoid the conflict. "Tough" in this situation is verbally bullying. That's you to a tee. It just comes of weird when you do it. Like the "prime land" argument where you kept going off on tangents that didn't make any sense. It's like you were just picking a fight for no reason. Little man syndrome.

Thanks for the education session.

You're mad because more than a few people have come to the conclusion that you're either trolling (not likely), or you can't put a reasonable argument together because as soon as someone says something you can't defend, you jump to, "Well what about this? And what about that, huh?" It's pee wee league and more people than me see it. Then you do the Trump thing like you did a couple posts ago where you just blame it on "you liberals" lol. Well, I ain't a liberal or republican so that's nothing more than deflection. One really fun piece of trivia from the other day I learned was you're the only one Rob ever muted on the site. After all the shit he's gotten slung at him over the years that's pretty impressive. Use your thinking skills and figure out what the common denominator is in all of that...

That was a rhetorical statement by the way, which means you don't need to answer...

I was talking to a liberal when I said that. Not everything is about you. And you think it's some sort of telling thing about me that Rob blocked me? Him and Hardy block everyone and their brother on Twitter. It's the liberal thing to do.

Oh yea, I'm not mad at all about anyone else in this thread. You annoyed the shit out of me well before the off topic forum was even made. Just a relentless ass. Can you give me some more irrelevant history lessons about the middle east to argue why Gaza isn't prime real estate?

So far DOGE has saved tax payers 84 billion dollars. That's 4 billion per day. We are talking about country saving money here. Hopefully 80% of the country is on board with this by summer.

My concern about DOGE and their money saving ways is we have no idea what kind of impact their closure of agencies will have long term. I'd honestly love to see our deficit cut, as would most, but my concern is we have no idea what kind of long term impact shutting down agencies like USAID may have. Or how removing information from government websites such as the FDA and CDC (fortunately blocked by the court) could have in the long run. Or the Countless cuts to HHS, which could majorly impact, not only the federal level, but could have major implications for Iowa's new mental health system that is supposed to roll out July 1st.

I'm not going to say USAID, WHO, FEMA, etc... are perfect organizations by any means (far from) or that funding wasn't being misappropriated by those agencies. However there was still a great deal of good done by those agencies that is being overlooked. We all want to cut the deficit, but it can't only be about saving money. I find it odd though that as thorough as the DOGE claim to be, that no issue was taken with the estimated $20 million it cost the tax payers for Trump to attend the Super Bowl, or how much money is spent on vacations and other frivolous spending politicians feel they are entitled to.

So to be honest, I'm guessing that those thinking the DOGE is a good thing will continue to do so, but I'd also wager that those that have concerns and think they're overstepping in to areas they have no business in, will continue to disapprove regardless of how much they are "saving the tax payers".

I enjoy middle eastern history and the geopolitics of that area, and have studied a ton of it, so I'd love to. But I won't because you won't believe anything I say anyway, and you'll go off on crazy tangents for the sake of argument rather than discussion. So thanks but no thanks.

There are lots of really, really good history books on the above that I could recommend if you're interested in learning something about what you're talking about. I'm guessing you won't spend the energy on it, though. Let me know if you want a few rec's to get started.

It's truly fascinating how everything that's happened in that region and Europe in the last 110 years is due to an Austrian prince getting shot in Sarajevo by a misguided 19 year-old kid in 1914. Until you understand the history, the timeline, the ethnic and governmental groups, and the geography involved, you won't have a clue about what's really going on there.

Maybe learning from history books would help you understand the reasons things are happening now and why it's right or wrong better than arguing with a bunch of internet randos.

Here is one example of the cost:

That is societal cost, but there is also the consideration of ROI. Programs that eliminate poverty tend to return more than they cost, for example, because of how expensive it is for society to deal with the knock-on issues that go along with poverty.
